Feeding

My little boy is 6 months old and is having 3 meals a day and 4 7oz bottles a day. He wakes up in the night and keeps getting up every hour.

Should I give him a bottle even though the tin says to feed a 6 month old 4x per day? Is he hungry? I don't know what to do for the best 🙁

Yes feed him if he's hungry! The tin is just a guide so go with your gut 😊 my LO eats more oz in a 24 period than this & she's just coming up to 5 months so they're all different x

Milk comes first. So definitely give more milk as the solids may be filling him up too much and isn't able to get all his needed calories in the day so needs more at night.

Is he wanting 3 meals a day? We was still on 6/7 bottles a day at 6 months old 😊

Yeah, he's having 3 meals and they're all good portions! On the kendamill tin it says 4 7oz bottles on top of meals

Definitely up his milk if he’s hungry, milk should be main priority before the age of 1 anyway 😊 he will drop the milk when ready. I use Kendamil and I don’t think I’ve ever looked at what it says on the tin

If I remember rightly at 6 months old we was still doing 6 bottles 5 oz a bottle, 7, 10, 1, 4, 7, 10 she would have breakfast at 8 and lunch at 12. I didn’t introduce a third meal till she dropped a bottle about 7 months old she didn’t want her 10pm bottle so I did tea at 5. She could never handle more than 5oz a bottle as she had reflux. 8months she was drinking 4 bottle a day along with 3 meals 6oz , 5oz, 6oz and then 7oz. She then stopped wanting her 5oz bottle and didn’t like to drink her middle of the day 6oz so I was upping her bedtime one to 8oz. I then stopped her 5oz a couple of weeks ago, she’s just off 10months so now has 6oz at 7am 6oz between 2-3pm 8oz between 6-7pm she has breakfast at 8, snack at 10, lunch between 11-12 depends if a nursery day, snack at 2, bottle between 2-3. Tea between 4-5 then bottle between 6-7. She drinks 20oz a day max now and I’ve just started giving her vitamins as sometimes she drops to 500ml a day. She also drinks water alongside all her

Meals and snacks. It’s what’s worked for us and the HV is happy with her x

A midwife once told me ignore what the formula boxes say as they are widely off. I combi fed so at 6 months we were doing at least 5 bottles of 5oz a day plus breastfeeds and I exclusively breastfed at night until 7.5 months - she would have 1 or 2 breastfeeds every night.

Leaky nappy help

What nappies are you using to stop leaks?? We use pampers ultra dry size 5, and for the past few nights he has lashed through and we’ve had to completely change him during the night. Last night he leashed through twice!! He sleeps on his front and stays leaks through at the top of his leg where the tabs connect. Didn’t know whether to size up, he has a bit of a belly on him but he’s smack in middle of weight guidance so shouldn’t need too

New born

Finally had my baby girl via C-section on the 18th, everything has been so far. But I’ve noticed she’s very fussy and cries a lot. I’ve been trying to exclusively breastfeed. The lactation consultant at the hospital said I did look like I’m making enough milk for her. She was latching on good at the hospital and now here at home, she doesn’t seem to want to latch at all. She’s been crying a lot and very fussy. I’m just wondering is she’s colic or like maybe she just doesn’t want the breast anymore?

5.30am wakeups 😫😴

My 15 week old has started waking up about 5.30am and is really hard to settle back down - it’s like he thinks it’s time to wake up for the day. He used to go to bed at 9pm and was up at 8am but now he goes to bed between 7.30-8pm as he’s knackered by then but waking up at 5.30am😴. Any advice to get him to sleep a little longer in the morning?! Even an extra hour would be lovely 🤣
