Ok, I must ask. How long are we suppose to do the healthy bland foods for our l toddlers? All these clean first food recipes are great, and I must say my 15 month toddler loved most of them at the beginning, but now she’s looking at our food more and more. She’s less interested in her food, and just want what I’m having. Do that mean I keep preparing the healthy food until she just not enjoying them anymore, or do I give her what I’m eating (home cooked meals)..

We are giving our almost 15 month old what we are eating. We eat “healthy” I’d say for the most part. Breakfast and lunches are usually pretty simple. Dinners is where I go all out. I just don’t add salt as a seasoning and limit sugars and such. But I’d say give your little one what you’re eating. I don’t think it needs to be bland at all. ☺️

do you add seasonings?

My son is now at a point where he will only eat something if it comes off my plate. So if I have something healthy I want him to have over say the pizza my husband cooks for dinner I’ll put whatever it is on my plate and he eats his healthy food.
Yes I do But typically I leave out salt and seasoning salt just in case we decide to serve it to my LO
that’s a good idea 👍🏾

SoldStarts is an awesome website/app/instagram for feeding kids. They say in general, get them foods that are less than 100 mg/serving of sodium.
Letting them eat flavorful food is good! And can still be healthy enough 🤷♀️

We’ve also just given off our plate but modified a bit for him depending on the stage. We eat pretty healthy as it is and if it’s something he shouldn’t have (sugar mostly) we just treat it like we do our coffee - that’s for mom and dad or whoever is eating it.

My baby has always eaten what we eat in moderation ofc. Like she gets nothing that’s too salty or has too much sugar but as far as flavor she takes it all and likes so much food. We don’t cook with salt so we don’t really worry about too much salt.
