Hi everyone,
I’m doing an elective c-section on March 22nd and I’m just wondering what will happen if I go to labour earlier? Will they still use epidural?

You should be able to still have a C-section if you go into labour earlier. Just let them know at the hospital. Also go as soon as contractions start - don't wait for them to get longer. My daughter was breech so I had to deliver by C-section and that's what they told me but I would also check with your doc

(I’ve had 2x elective C-sections) Yup everything should still go as planned if you go in to labor early. Just go to the hospital and tell them. They will definitely still numb you.
To be on the safe side, my OB always planned my C sections 1 week early to avoid going into labor, but it’s no biggie if it happened.

Thank you ladies ❤️

I have a question for you actually, how did you go about asking your doctor for an elective c-section? I’ve heard that not all doctors are very pro elective c sections. And I’m really considering it because my first birth was traumatic, and I do not want to go through it again.

Hi Ruth, I asked them right away on my first appointment if I can choose and they said yes. I heard if you are close to 35 years old they give you the option. I’m 34. My doctors are in St. Paul’s. I also know my other friends who are around same age have asked for c-section and they let them choose.where are you giving birth?

oh ok! I’ll definitely bring it up at my next prenatal appointment. But based on my doctor I don’t think she’ll be very open to it 😢
