PREGVIT making me sick- 7 weeks 6 days

Hey ladies I'm 7 weeks 6 days and since last week I realised when I take my morning Multivitamin of the Pregvit - the pink one- I feel sick. Today I started gagging and then vomiting. If I do not take the multi vitamin I do not feel sick. How are you ladies coping knowing we need to take the vitamins

I just took folic acid because the vitamins made me so ill , you don’t need to take them the folic acid is most important

Some people take children’s vitimans in place of prenatals cause they can’t keep them down/makes the sick.

I honestly didn’t take any vitimans during my pregnancy lol

I had a similar issue I literally was so unwell I even had a rather grim response to the folic acid 😅(other end) 😵 I ended up shoving a tonne of green veg in me as folic acid is very important for the first 12 weeks so you need that one then most whether in tablet form or green veg (both is best)

Probably is pregnancy sickness it starts to get worse by week 8/9 . Try taking it at a different time and in the middle of a meal . Than can help, if is still making you sick then maybe try a different kind.

I had to switch to gummy vitamins when I was pregnant. Everything else made me feel so gross

I just took one multi vit a day and made sure it was full of folic acid.

That’s the most important one in trimester 1 for development. Tbh anything with iron in makes me sick, pregnant or not.

You want foods rich in folate, not a folic acid supplement. Roughly 45% of women cannot convert folic acid into folate, which can cause issues to mom through pregnancy and postpartum

Certain veggies are high in folate which is awesome!

If you’re looking for supps/vitamins, consider once that have clinical research done on them

Otherwise, eat a nutrient dense, whole food diet (all meats, fruits and veggies, dairy, etc.)

You just need to take folic acid and vitamin D

Everyone that i know told me that this made them feel really sick try to switch to something else

pasta and bread contain a LOT of folic acid! i didn’t take prenatals during my pregnancy!

Avatar

they do! I was eating plenty of cereal bread and spinach cooked in rice to make up for not being able to tolerate vitamins I've never been able to but I tried a different type each time haha 😂 gave up in a week each time as well if everything is coming out it's not staying in
Plus side my main thing I've wanted has been peas and potatoes and in gravy and peas have a good chunk too

And my baby grew all healthy so far and all my others did I know it's advised but if I can't physically keep anything in that's got to be worse

Avatar

Thank you all for your insights. I'll try the folic because omg I hate this feeling I can't even work

My entire first trimester I took pregvit like an idiot and kept vomitting due to its high iron content. My family doctor gave me pregvit but my obgyn told me the iron was too much in it. She gave me a no-name brand and even told me materna is also better. She told me I could also stop taking prenatals post 3 months and I could only keep taking folate 1-3mg folate and I would be okay. I did exactly that and my nausea decreased soo much. Throw out these pregvits sissyyy, atleast the pink ones, ewwww

And try to also take 2000 iu vit D daily if you live in Winnipeg like me., and on days when you dont have fish or enough omega 3 consumption, you can also try taking kirkland omega 3 tablets!
They are amazing.

I am having women’s gummy vitamins. Check is there is no vit A in it.

I took these my whole pregnancy and 6 months post … if I took it as directed I would vomit so I took the pills after meals not on an empty stomach

I have pregnacare multi vitamins but I'd suggest trying some different kinds of multivitamins but in all honesty as long as you get folic acid in u you don't actually need to worry about multivitamins I know plenty of mum's that didn't take anything during there pregnancy and there baby's came out prefect no problems at all and there children are growing up really well with no problems at all in all honesty the multivitamins are suggested for pregnancy in case you don't get a balanced diet and need the extra boost form not getting it in food as long as you have a proper balanced diet you don't actually need to worry about multivitamins at all tho morning sickness could also be the cause of ur sickness first trimester is the worst for it lol but if you really want to take multivitamins just try a few different kinds until you find one that works for you x

I used to take mine at night before I went to sleep, just a folic acid with vitamin D so nothing too faffy. You don’t need much the most important is Folic acid up til 12 weeks and then i just dropped it down to a normal vitamin D supplement

Avatar

Omg. i took the same ones and they made me sick as well! I actually stopped taking them because I ended up with an extreme case of nausea and vomiting, I couldnt hold down anything. Things started to get better during the second trimester and I started taking prenatal gummies instead. Worked out so much better for me 👍🏼

Avatar

You don't need to take a multivitamin at all.

Folic acid is the only important one that is all I took and just the first 12 weeks.

Avatar

Which ones did you take?

Avatar

It happened to me too but trust me its not pregvit its ur normal nausea i skipped pregvit for a week and the nausea was still there but whn i left it for 2 3 days it would get better i started using materna thats a good one too

Avatar

So feedback ..I took the pink pill today with food
So far so good..no nausea no vomiting no gagging...will try again tomorrow and see how it goes but wow what a relief for today 😅

Anyone else felt like this?

Hi, I’m 4 months postpartum, little one sleeps through the night and is formula fed, the last week I’ve felt extremely tired and very hungry! Just wondered if anyone else has felt this way/experienced this?

Pregnant with baby 2

Hi everyone! I gave birth via emergency c section 9 months ago as my baby boy was measuring big, he pooped inside so there was risk of him inhaling it and I wasn’t progressing past 3cm to have a natural birth and now I’m currently 20 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby. I’m having a consultation on Tuesday to talk about birth options and to have any questions answered but I don’t know what to ask. I feel like it would be safer having a c section again but at the same time I don’t want a c section. Does anyone have any question ideas I could ask or any advice/stories of similar situations. Tia

Hey what are your current symptoms?

I’m 37+5

I’m pretty mobile still but anything over a hour or 2 and I’m in discomfort

Getting up from a sitting position is hard

Some of baby’s movements now are bordering on painful especially around my crotch/pelvis

I’m exhausted very easily and nap every single day

Can basically only breathe out my mouth now and I’m snoring and dribbling 😂

Standing in one leg is very painful 😂

Some waves of pain/ tightening but I regular and mild

Low period type aches

And I feel like a fire breathing dragon with this acid reflux

My nose is growing 😂

My fingers swell slightly and go numbs in my sleep so that and constant toilet breaks keep me up ( checked swelling with MW and consultant and all normal, not a worry)

I also do not want to be social in person like I’d rather everyone just be my penpal atm lol

What are your symptoms?
