35 weeks and I’m 1cm dilated!!

I went to my appointment for my “36” check up but with scheduling with the doctor I’m still 35 weeks and 5 days but she check if I was dilated and I’m so surprise I’m 1 cm. But i have been cramping and feeling uncomfortable down there but also I did not expect a cervix check to hurt like that :( are y’all planning to do delay cervix checks while in labor I think I am since it’s hurts for me

I’m 34+6 and have been 3cm, 60% and station -1 since 30 weeks😅 I’m going to get another pelvic check at 37 weeks most likely and then when I go in for my c section at 39 weeks they said they will have to check me again.

I had a cervix check today too & it hurt 😞 I was kinda embarrassed feeling like I acted like a baby! I am 32 weeks 1 day

I’m 36 weeks and 3 cm dilated and 60% effaced and have been since 33 weeks. I probably won’t get another cervical check unless there’s a real reason to.

no i get you it freaked me out how deep they have to go and when she told me she felt the baby’s head i was in shocked

I've had 2 and they didn't hurt more so uncomfortable. Maybe the doctor was too rough I'd ask them to be more gentle

This must be a US thing hey I never had any checks for that in Australia until I was in labour and even then they were very reluctant to do it.

I have it tomorrow can I reject it, is it necessary? cervical check!

Avatar

it’s not medically necessary and you definitely can decline! Some people just like knowing where they are at however it poses a very minimum risk of infection and can be uncomfortable so many doctors ask if you want to be checked.

Avatar

it depends on who you see for prenatal care. I see midwives and they don’t do any cervical checks either!

It usually hurts less once you’re actually in labor.. your cervix starts off very high up in your vagina which means the doctor has to reach really far to check it; but once labor begins your cervix is usually much lower and easier for them to reach.

Id also decline a check this time round, it tells you very little and isn't fun. You can be 1cm for weeks and nothing happens or baby can arrive in hours. If it's more dilated than you hoped you get excited then may have a long wait or if it's less you feel 'bad' you're body isn't progressing well which isn't great. Can't see many plusses in it really

Scan needed at 33 weeks

Hi ladies! I just had a midwife appointment (I am 33+5)..the midwife was different to my usual midwife. She's requested I have a scan within 72 hours as she said baby is measuring a little small, however, she did say that it's likely nothing to worry about and it's probably just her measuring me a bit different to my usual midwife. Has anyone else had this? Am a bit worried although babys heartbeat and movements are completely fine.

Finding out gender

Has anyone found out the gender at a private scan at 14 weeks? And has this been accurate?

I found out at 17 with my first but I know a scan place that offers from 14/15 weeks and I’m impatient 😂🥲

Rolling milestone at 5 months - What’s typical ?

Good morning ladies,

My daughter will be 5 months old tomorrow, but there’s still no sign of her rolling. She does tummy time and loves lying on her mat, playing with hanging toys above her and to the sides, but she only lifts her legs and doesn’t seem interested in rolling or moving sideways yet.

Anyone else the same or have your babies already learnt how to roll yet ?

Thank you
