I don’t think you can work from home and look after babies at the same time - unless you are self employed and can totally manipulate your hours.

Yeah there has to be flexibility allowed and restructuring of the work. Also my son is quite independent so that makes life easier but I think that won't last
Some mums specifically look for work from home jobs but it’s impossible to do this long term 😭 this is my first day and I already cried during a meeting because my daughter sept on the high chair

It is impossible especially when baby grows and needs more stimulation/ learning. You would be doing half job of working and half job of being a mum, especially with twins too. Some people are just unrealistic. Most companies in the UK wouldn't entertain having someone who has to look after their little ones full time. Why would they pay someone full wage to do half a job.
Ours goes to nursery full time and has been since 11 months so I could go back to work. I appreciate it is not possible for many due to the cost of childcare.

It’s not possible. Ours was home from nursery yesterday due to illness (she wasn’t still sick but nursery has a 48 hour rule) and I got almost nothing done despite having a nanny come in the afternoon (she just screamed when I left her with the nanny so I couldn’t focus). Had to catch up after she was in bed.

Working from home is exactly that- you shouldn’t be looking after kids at the same time.

I work from home and there is no way I could look after my kids whilst working, I wouldn’t want to neglect them. Kids need someone that is willing to give 100% of their attention specially when they are little. And I don’t think my work would be happy if I only did half of my job day by day.

I work from home and have managed to also balance being a SAHM for the last 2.5 years. It definitely can be done even when some days are more stressful than others.

I work from home - but will be sending my son to a childminder when I go back to work 3 days a week. I could not do this and work at the same time! He takes up all my time

I know people will disagree but I usually have Mrs Rachel playing and my girl loves that plus she's pretty independent so that helps a lot. I also thankfully have to be on a lot of calls that require me to speak.

I work from home with an 1 year old. It's not easy but I manage. My job is not very demanding of my time constantly which helps a lot. My son doesn't wake up until after I already started working, so typically I get an hour or two of working uninterrupted. Sometimes in the morning when I need to check my emails, I sit him in his high chair by my desk and allow him to feed himself. I do structure learning activities like reading books or reading sessions at the library by my home, walks, and sensory activities with my little one during my lunch break to tire my kid out. I allow my child to watch Ms. Rachel, and play with toys. Find what works for you and your little ones. My biggest help is the few hours uninterrupted in the mornings and during his nap time. Please know that your child is NOT going to get 100% of any child care teacher or facility attention so don't beat yourself up because you can't always give 100%!
woah I applaud you. Today was my first work from home with my twins and honestly I cannot imagine how hard it can get to be doing it long term.

I became a childminder for this reason 🙈 my son is settled at a nursery now and turned 2 in Dec and feel I want a more 'adult' job I've worked with kids for a long time and want a chnage 🌟
TV has been on all day. Literally tried everything you can imagine but it was extremely difficult to point where I cried 😭 I think if I had another set of hands to help, it would have made it doable but it’s been a challenge to say the least.

I think it also helps when your children are a bit older. Also doing it with two is much harder

To be fair I only have just the one, I absolutely couldn’t do it if I had twins!!

Another set of hands will definitely help for sure. I am sorry you got so overwhelmed. I still get that way to with only 1

It's not possible either your work or your child gets neglected (neglected a bit of a strong word) my husband works from home and I really struggle on my days off with our 2 yr old as I feel like I need to try and keep her quiet ans can't do the noisy messy games so feel like she is missing out. We end up going out most days

I work from home. I hired a nanny to watch my kid while I work full time

My husband and I both work from home full time and our baby is in childcare. It's impossible for us to do our jobs well and care for our daughter at the same time. Something would suffer. My husband's company even has a policy "remote work is not child care."
I've heard of some people using white noise machines in conjunction with noise cancelling headphones to block out baby sounds but that's not very sustainable.
I agree with everyone here. It’s impossible to do especially now that I’ve done one day and I got to do 2 more I know it’s not sustainable for the long run. As much as my employer is understanding when it comes to child care I do think that splitting my time but still getting paid full is not acceptable 😅
Thanks ladies for validating me that it’s impossible.
