Used car seat

Family is offering us a used uppababy infant full set with stroller and skateboard and bassinet and Infabt carrier. Would you accept the gift? I want to and maybe I’ll just get a brand new infant seat for the car? I’d like to just use it it’s in good shape.

Or maybe when she gives it to me I can look up the expiration date. I don’t want to be too obsessive lol

I am just wondering why you wouldn’t take it. You can ask about the expiration date before you take it, that’s not weird.

I would accept it if it was all clean and in a good condition… will save you a fortune

The problem with second hand car seats is not knowing how old they are, how they have been stored and whether they have been in an accident. As it is family I am assuming you can trust what they tell you so just ask outright about anything like that. I am sure they will fully understand you keeping baby safe as a priority. We had a second hand Joie stages car seat but as it was from a very close friend we knew it was safe for a few years until the expiry date

Personally I'd accept everything and just get a new car seat. Also depends on how many children they used the stroller and seat for? Quite a lovely hand me down as that whole system is expensive new!

I would definitely accept the gift so long as everything is in good condition . You can look up how old the car seat is. You can always replace the car seat if needed but that entire bundle is like 2k they’re saving you alot of money with that gift. Take it.

I wouldn't use the car seat because of what others have said but also you don't know if it was cleaned properly.

Car seats have a date on the back of them - it’s imprinted in the plastic

I’d accept it and use it

I've brought a travel system second hand. I did this with my daughter too. Never had a problem. Saves me money.

If the car seat is still withing the expiration date and it hasn't been involved in any accidents, I would definitely take it. As far as I know, those inserts can be cleaned very well.

I wouldn’t. Anything else yes. But car seat safety is a huge thing of mine. Never know what it may have went through.

I've gotten used sets before even used sets from one child to the next. I would accept everything in good condition and the expiration date is maybe three to four years out. Also you can take it by your local Firehouse to have an inspected and properly installed in your car.

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Naps

How is everyone doing for naps?

Little one is 9 months old and will have 2 half hour naps and one solid 1 hour - 2 hour nap a day

Then settles for night around 9pm. Wakes for a feed around 3:30 then sleeps until 6-7

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Pumping advise

FTM to a 2 week old! I’m breastfeeding and then giving one formula bottle last in the evening before bed. I want to start expressing milk to give me some breathing room and also allow my partner to be more involved in feeding. I’m finding the idea of introducing pumping into my day quite overwhelming though. I don’t want to take milk away from my baby by pumping if he needs it during the day when being breastfeed.

Can anyone advise how I start pumping and when to do it? Thank you!

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.
