I don’t think I want to breastfeed feeling guilty

The more I read about breastfeeding the more it sounds like it’s not for me . I feel so guilty cause I feel like everyone says breastfeeding is so much better but what’s wrong with formula ? I was formula fed and turned out great and so was my sister . I know it’s selfish but I want my body to belong to me again after pregnancy. I want to be able to have both my fiancé and I do be able to feed my baby . I don’t want to leak in my wedding dress, I want to be able to have a drink without worrying about alcohol in my breast milk . I also worry about me not producing enough for my baby . I feel so bad and selfish because I still want to live a life. Any other mom’s feelings this way ??

Heyyy nothing wrong with formula feeding it’s totally okay to feel this way many great moms don’t breastfeed it’s not for everyone ! I’m formula feeding as well, don’t let other moms make you feel bad. Do what’s best for you and your mental health !!

I am still planning to breast feed because I absolutely love the bond, but I have the same feelings. You’re a prisoner. I realized this very quickly with my son. I will say there are some incredible benefits to breastfeeding, not just with health. But formula is insanely expensive and cleaning bottles absolutely sucks. If those are things that you can deal with, formula feed-guilt free. Do some sort of combo. Maybe you exclusively pump and let your fiance help. There are so, so many options. I would try it for a week or two and see how you feel. Again, the bond is really incredible, and my son didn’t even latch until he was 10 weeks old. If it’s not for you don’t do it. But maybe try so you can make an informed decision. No pressure though. The best way to take care of a baby, is to take care of their mom ❤️

It’s whatever you feel comfortable with hun. Your baby is still going to be fed regardless and taken care of, it honestly doesn’t matter. ❤️ especially doesn’t matter what others think or say either. Protect your peace.

I understand it will change and I will make sacrifices but I don’t think it’s crazy to want to have a weekend or an hour to myself or wanting to have my body to myself again.

Is motherhood really just never enjoying life again .

especially when I have the support of my fiancé and father and my in laws and sisters .

Do what makes you happy and comfortable. It’s meant to be a joyful, and yes, sleep deprived, occasion. So don’t make yourself miserable over it. A feed baby is best.

I decided to formula feed so I can go back on my mood stabilizer and ssri. I got off it for the pregnancy to reduce the risk to my baby, including the risk of her going through withdrawals after birth. But for my own mental health and my family, I need to go back on as soon as possible, which means I either forgo breastfeeding or I feed her with milk that contains the same drugs I was protecting her from. I still struggle with the decision, but it's what is best for my family.

There is nothing wrong with formula feeding. Your baby's health is the most important, and formula will fulfill that. If it didn't, it wouldn't be an option. These guilty feelings will go away with time. Just enjoy your baby! You're an amazing mom just for wanting what's best for them, and what's best is you ❤️

Nothing wrong with formula but breastfeeding was easier and cheaper than formula for me I found formula to be a huge clean up and a huge time kill and it was much easier to just pop a boob out feed the kid and keep going I didn't pump either cuz that was a lot of work too and the worrying about too little milk as long as you stay hydrated you'll make milk if you have healthy boobs it's like 2% of women that can't breastfeed but if you wanna do formula do it and don't take any side eye tell the haters to p off I breast fed but only cuz it's easier

Don’t feel bad love, a fed baby is a healthy baby. No matter what path you choose whether breastfeeding or formula.

Do what’s best for you honestly! I breastfed and plan to with my next because it was free and easier for me. If it’s going to cause you stress or not work for your daily life then go with formula

Do what’s best for your family mama. That’s what this formula was made for, those who can’t and don’t want to. It may not have the antibodies but it still helps them grow and get big and strong. ❤️

Fed babies are best! I plan on breast feeding but I also totally relate to wanting my body back. But also you can drink and breastfeed, it doesn’t go straight to your milk it takes a few hours. Just dump it later. Breastfeeding also makes your cycle deviate so it’s easy to get pregnant again right after having a baby so that’s a plus to stoping. I heard that formula poops smell worse 😂 Just do your research on a good clean non toxic organic formula brand if you do! I was looking into goats milk formula to help if I need it.

Fed is best!! Breastfeeding definitely isn't for everyone and that's okay!!! As long as your baby is eating the proper nutrients and is healthy and happy that's all you can ask for!!

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

Baby with chronic congestion

Hi everyone! My 1 year has been a congested baby since birth almost. She breathes through her mouth so often that it wakes her up multiple times at night and she cries and screams and then struggles to go back to sleep. She wakes up every 1-3 hours and sometimes can’t go back to sleep for 2-3 hours!!! Piriton is the only thing that seems to help her sleep mostly through the night but I can’t keep giving her that!!
Does anyone have tips as to have I can do or give her? Has anyone experienced? I have no idea when I’ll get an ENT appointment and I have no idea what he can give a 13 mo :( we are desperate for sleep so any tips are welcome!! We have tried steam inhalation, saline drops, vapour rubs and everything off the counter basically!

Combi feeding advice

Has anyone gone from EBF to combi feeding? Currently do one bottle of EBM per night and they one half formula half breast milk mixed in the day. The other times she still feeds on me. Ideally I want to feed all day via bottle and all night with breast. She’s 7 weeks and takes a bottle well, how long should I leave it before adding another bottle to her daily routine?
