We’re planning on not finding out the baby’s sex until birth and went for an elective ultrasound this weekend. I was very clear with the woman when I made the appointment and again when we arrived. The baby was a little difficult to see because my placenta was in the way and we really didn’t look at genital areas but I can’t keep thinking about something she said..she slightly stuttered after my older son asked a question and said “sh..did you see their hands earlier” or something along those lines. She then later told us that she didn’t know the babies gender and it wasn’t in any of the photos we were given if people tried to “read them”…I just can’t tell if she made an honest mistake or accidentally slipped up but I’m trying not to be upset. I just know that this isn’t going to leave my head and I hate thinking that the surprise may be ruined.

I’m sorry this happened to you!! I know that I personally call all babies he until we know just out of habit! My first was a boy so maybe that’s why! I know people who refer to them as she’s until they know! Maybe that’s how she is and she stopped because she didn’t want to make you think it was a girl when she doesn’t know!

I totally understand and your feelings are valid! I don’t really understand why it’s so hard for people to understand that some people don’t want to know what gender their baby is. Gender isn’t a key variable during pregnancy!! I am frustrated with you. I hope it wasn’t her accidentally slipping up too. I hope that going forward all your techs respect your decision not to know.

I feel your pain. We are hoping to wait also and the tech called baby “buddy” which now is making me feel like it’s a boy 🙃 I think about it everyday and it’s really frustrating but I have just been reminding myself that I still don’t know for sure and so it will still be a surprise!!

My doctor called baby a guy and I thought she had ruined it but turns out it’s a girl! Sometimes people just call baby’s she or he but don’t mean it. I hope that’s the case here! I am sorry that happened

Literally the same exact thing happened to me!

I had the exact same thing happen to me and I lay there for most of the ultrasound thinking ‘omg she just told me it was a boy’, but then she did it again and I realised she said ‘bubby’

Ouuuuuuu see!!! It’s still a mystery!!!

If you aren't sure and are questioning if maybe the sex was revealed then guess what...you still don't know and it's still a surprise.

Aye, I specifically told my doctor I don't want to know the gender of my first child because we hadn't done the gender reveal party yet. Then during the appt she literally said he is a big boy 😒🙃😒🙃😒😒
