Sleeping too much

My baby is sleeping too much. 18-20 hours a day. I am so worried, I would call the HV but I would like to hear about you if you are experiencing anything similar?

I know some babies are just sleepy heads but I’m not sure how much would be worrying? Or if it would even be worrying?🤔
How long has baby done this for?
So are they only awake 4/6 hour of a day?

She just started to do this a few day ago and before she had so loooong wake windows she only slept once a day for 2 hours and 10 at night. Today it was 14 hours at night and she went to sleep after 3 hours again
Yesterday's nap was 5 hours long
But she seem happy and healthy otherwise so I am not too worried about that but it is a huge change in her sleeping habits.

Is she drinking plenty and having wet and dirty nappies. Could just be a growth spurt. But heavy sleepy babies can also be a sign of dehydration x

Does she sleep through the night or wake?

I don't know if she gets enough to drink as she only accept the breast and nothing else and has 4 wet nappy 1 or 2 dirty it seems enough

I would honestly ring your GP for advice. Maybe normal. But 4 wet nappies doesn't seem a lot. They say baby should soak through 4-6 at least in a 24 hour period and anything less could be sign of dehydration. What/ how often is she eating solid food x

I would speak to hv and gp

I mean the dirty nappies are also wet as well somewhat
She eats well she is on 3 meals a day but I thinks she needs another soon because she is more hungry nowadays, she eats a lot at every meal though

Hv said she would come and see her

As long as she is eating and drinking well then she may just be a sleepy baby going through some developmental changes ATM that means more sleep for processing...
But if HV said they'll come see her then atleast it'll put your mind at ease.
I asked about food as well as Hungry babies may also sleep to stop the feeling but sounds like she doesn't have a problem with that haha xx

She doesn't have a problem with eating, or she does? She always wants to eat everyone else's food after she ate 😂

She was gaining weight well so she was not concerned about her.

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Naps

How is everyone doing for naps?

Little one is 9 months old and will have 2 half hour naps and one solid 1 hour - 2 hour nap a day

Then settles for night around 9pm. Wakes for a feed around 3:30 then sleeps until 6-7

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

Pumping advise

FTM to a 2 week old! I’m breastfeeding and then giving one formula bottle last in the evening before bed. I want to start expressing milk to give me some breathing room and also allow my partner to be more involved in feeding. I’m finding the idea of introducing pumping into my day quite overwhelming though. I don’t want to take milk away from my baby by pumping if he needs it during the day when being breastfeed.

Can anyone advise how I start pumping and when to do it? Thank you!

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.
