Standing independently

Hey all, my little girl started crawling at 8 months and has been pulling herself up on furniture around the same time and has been cruising from around 9 months I would say. She’s just turned 10 months and in the past week she’s mastered standing independently and can walk while holding one hand. Anyone know how long from these steps it takes to walk independently? We have taken one single step a couple times but not sure if that was reflex to not fall.

- video is when she was just starting to master it.

it will just happen when she is that determined to get where shes going. at this point i think its only fear and one day, they will just become brave enough... no time frame on it

ah yeah that makes sense! I know every kid is different I just wasn’t sure if there was an estimate on whether it was days away or months away still. Thank you ☺️

with my oldest at 8.5 months she just took off and walked from one couch to the next and that was her official begin to her walking. she was probably couch cruising for 6 weeks or so prior to that.our girl now is 8mo and shes been couch cruising for 3weeks(just started moving along couch before it was standing in place pulling self up etc) she took 2 steps last week but nothing since. she just started crawling last week as well. she is adventurous and always holds her hands up in the air but doesnt step yet lol.shes testing her fear and willingness. by the way shes so cute

oh that sounds similar to what our little girl is doing then. When she stands she is flapping her hands and managing to balance really well. And Iv noticed she’s learning how to get back down softly (successfully) without plonking herself down. So I guess as you say, it’s all part of her learning and braving it 🥰

yup, sounds very similar. oneday you will just be surprised that she took the leap! lol then you'll be running behind her day and night lol

oh yes I’m looking forward to her walking but working from home full time and having a crawler is difficult without her being able to run everywhere 😂

Mine both walked independently before they could stand so I doubt it’s long at all until she is walking!!

I'm just admiring the location of your TV. I had to hang up mine on the wall 🥲

it’s been an extra week and she’s deffo more confident with the standing and walking with a trolly. Now just for her to be brave enough to take the leap 😂

surprisingly hasn’t been an issue…. Yet 😂 the plant on the other hand, is slowly losing its soil and the salt rock lamp behind dads head seems to be an enticing lick every now and then 🙄 but we’re learning lol

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

My 6 month old makes no eye contact with me and doesn’t respond when I call him. Can this just be a phase or personality trait as apposed to autism

Baby with chronic congestion

Hi everyone! My 1 year has been a congested baby since birth almost. She breathes through her mouth so often that it wakes her up multiple times at night and she cries and screams and then struggles to go back to sleep. She wakes up every 1-3 hours and sometimes can’t go back to sleep for 2-3 hours!!! Piriton is the only thing that seems to help her sleep mostly through the night but I can’t keep giving her that!!
Does anyone have tips as to have I can do or give her? Has anyone experienced? I have no idea when I’ll get an ENT appointment and I have no idea what he can give a 13 mo :( we are desperate for sleep so any tips are welcome!! We have tried steam inhalation, saline drops, vapour rubs and everything off the counter basically!

Combi feeding advice

Has anyone gone from EBF to combi feeding? Currently do one bottle of EBM per night and they one half formula half breast milk mixed in the day. The other times she still feeds on me. Ideally I want to feed all day via bottle and all night with breast. She’s 7 weeks and takes a bottle well, how long should I leave it before adding another bottle to her daily routine?
