My contractions app has been telling me to get ready for the hospital. Today (if I've been timing them right) they've been about 6 minutes apart and lasting about a minute each. But they haven't been increasing in intensity, so I'm reluctant to go in just to be sent home. What would you do?

My doula said 5:1:1 rule. 5 minutes apart, lasting for 1 minute each, and has been steady like that for 1 hour.

Yep is right. If you are at least 37 weeks, then 3-5 mins apart 1 min each for at least 1 hour go in. They will check if you are at least 4 cm dialated. If you are like 3 and live far they sometimes will let you walk around or bounce on a ball for an hour or so and see if you progress.

I've been 3.5 since 35 weeks. Right now they're about 6:1:1

the same exact situation happened to me early this morning and i ended up only being 1cm dilated so they sent me home:/

I had a similar experience over the weekend. Contractions were about five minutes apart but felt relatively mild like a period cramps, increased in intensity, but then settled down when I got up to get ready to leave if needed. I thought the pain had plateaued, but my husband convinced me to go in and I'm glad he did bc I gave birth later that day. Good luck!
