Ever since we found out I was pregnant, we have only had sex once and it wasn't even all that. But tonight we wanted to and it was greats. But when we stopped I had blood spread across and onto my thighs. Is this common with sex during pregnancy to bleed or should I be concerned. I cleaned it all up and have been monitoring and it seems to have slowed down quite a bit but I still put a pad on to really help keep an eye out.
Should I still go to ER or call my doctor in the AM? I already have an appointment for anatomy scan on Monday March 4th so I don't want to bother them too much at office.

I went to the ER anytime I saw blood, just to be on the safe side. If it was a significant amount, I would go in. Better safe than sorry right? And it’ll give you peace of mind even if nothing is wrong.

I would call you doctor to double check if they want to see you sooner. Maybe your cervix got irritated? If that’s the case I would expect the bleeding to stop soon so definitely monitor.

My doc is available 24/7 for calls. If I see blood I’m going to ER and I’m not worrying about apologizing to anyone! Once you get there the response is always “better to be safe” that’s the response I got when I went to labor and delivery with a headache. I was really scared - they gave me a Tylenol and my BP went down everything was good! They were so nice and reassuring. Now I won’t hesitate to go right back with any concern! Hope this helps.
I do have friends that shared they would spot after sex often but that never happened to me

I was told that bleeding can happen during/after sex but all bleeding should be reported

I’ve spotted a couple times after sex throughout my pregnancy, which is normal since the cervix is more fragile, but it was never any more than that. For me, it was just one wipe of very light pink.

Anytime there’s blood during a pregnancy you should definitely go to the doctor. I found that until 14 weeks or so I experienced mild bleeding but only from the increased blood volume and having friction sensitive capillaries and veins but now at 36 weeks no issues there anymore

Spotting small amounts after is normal, but you should always get it checked out.
