So I had baby Levi February 25 and have been breast feeding him exclusively. He has been eating regularly and healthily. He has pooped a few times yesterday and peed a few times too, however, there were a couple changes that have had this pinkish tint to it. At first we thought it might be blood, but after looking a bit more into it, we are thinking urate crystals and I need to drink more liquids? It has been pink both times and it is not liquid like blood, but kinda flakey looking. I have his pediatric appointment on Friday too but was wondering if we should take him to urgent care.

It's very normal and common (and terrifying if you've not seen it before!) I'm on baby #5 and all of them had this within the first few days earthside ❤️

omg thank you so much, I have been so worried, thank you so much 😭❤️❤️❤️

Also, good to know, 90+% of the time urgent cares will forward you to a hospital, only to have the hospital forward you to a children's hospital.. based on liability and lack of specialties NOT on actual urgency. It used to worry me, now I just skip the urgent care and the local hospital if I truly believe there's a problem I go straight to the children's hospital.

good to know, thank you! I would hate having to drive around to all these different places while baby isn’t feeling well
