It's not from sex
The nurse should of explained its a contact thing so holding hands etc not from sexual intercourse

it says on the letter sexual intercourse

I had mine last week and I was told that actually although alot of people think its sexually transmitted its not
Due to this even boys in schools are now getting the jab due to them holding hands etc

they need to re do the letter then. I’ve been having them for 20 years and never once had a positive test so I’m surprised, especially as all the information in that time and even printed now says it’s sexually transmitted. It’s rare skin to skin and usually skin to skin cause is due to skin to skin sexual contact.

I'm only going off what I was told at my appointment although she may have told me wrong

it’s not your fault. I started having them when I was 18 so it’s nearly 20 years from my first and it’s always been the same advice that I was given, I tried to call the drs but I have to wait a month to speak to a nurse and having never had a positive test it’s scary. 😬

It can be dormant in the body for years. You probably have caught it via sexual contact years ago and it's only just presented itself

That and in the UK a lot of areas have only recently started testing for it

I had the same. Caused some uncomfortable conversations with my husband
