I will obviously have a car seat but the car seat I’m thinking to get just stays in the car, and doesn’t have a handle so won’t be able to take baby out of the hospital that way. Can I just get her to the car in the carrycot? Sorry if this is a silly question x

Learn more about our guidelines.Most hospitals require you to leave the ward with the baby pre strapped into the car seat. You wouldn’t be able to use a carry cot. Check with your midwife to see what the policy is there.
Yeah we just wheeled baby out the hospital in his bed to the car as we had a fitted car seat.
They were absolutely fine with it, just came with us to make sure it was there.
You don’t need a car seat just to carry baby out the hospital xx
@Emily we love our sky!
Would definitely recommend OP! X
If you haven’t bought the car seat yet you may want to consider one that can be removed from the car purely for convenience if baby is sleeping sometimes. I know my hospital requires me to have baby strapped into car seat before we leave the ward x
Thank you all ❤️the car seat is good and has really good reviews. And I can remove it, I just can’t carry baby in it as it doesn’t have a handle. It comes as part of the travel system I want and it makes a lot of sense price wise. We are not rich so I don’t want to have to get another one if I don’t have to x
The same question was asked in another group some time ago and a lady commented that she didn't drive and she didn't live far from the hospital, she walked home with her baby in the pram. You'll be absolutely fine ☺️💕 not everyone has carry car seats xxxx
I literally carried my first to the car in the hospital blanket 🤷🏼♂️ they can't stop you leaving with your baby and they aren't even trained in car seat safety, so them seeing baby strapped in means nothing.
