i might get a lot of stick for this but i cannot for the life of me, get my little boy to sleep in his next to me or separate to me

i love sleeping with him, but i want my bed back now. it happened by accident, i’ve tried the t-shirt in the crib, and i feel horrible letting him “cry it out”

i got gifted one of these and didn’t know what it was, sounds silly but does it actually work? we’ve had a cold winter in the house with no duvet lol while baby cairo has had a sleep bag on

I mean it works for me, I used this for cosleeping so I couldn’t roll on top of him but also could sleep while breastfeeding. I wanted my bed back as well so I just started putting it in the bassinet before he sleeps and giving him a big bottle of milk. But im not sure if it does anything for warmth it’s just cozy for him. I would try it in your bed with you for a couple nights if you’re considering it and then put it in the bassinet.

he’s currently fallen asleep in his moses basket in the living room, which he hasn’t done before so if he sleeps in here tonight (i’m on the sofa dw) then i’ll take him upstairs tomorrow in the moses basket, maybe he just doesn’t like the next to me x

Avatar

yeah we’ve got a chicco one? i think, and then a moses basket for downstairs. he slept in the next room me while he was tiny, before he was properly aware of him not being with me, but at about 6 weeks he came in with us and we’re 16 weeks now x

my little boy also prefers the Moses basket to next to me but he’s been sleeping better in next to me in a sleeping bag it’s like he feels cosier in it x

My son hated the next2me and has slept in my bed for the last 3 months. We put his cot up and it's like a different baby. He sleeps in it by himself and sleeps 4 hours at a time. I've heard the same off a few mums. I recommend a cot x

Our little girl hated the Moses basket. We ended up CoSleeping for the first 5/6 weeks. Even in the day we would try get her to nap in her Moses and she’d wake instantly. Eventually we realised she didn’t like that she could starfish and spread her arms to the side. Bought a Chicco next to me and has been sleeping in there since, sometimes through the night 🥳 she’s now 12 weeks xx

so far we’ve slept through 6 hours only just waking for a bottle!

Try putting one of your worn pj tops or nightie wrapped tightly arround the mattress of the next to me. Then they have your scent, it worked wonders for my LO who co-slept until about 6weeks as she hated the next to me and then the night I tried the pj trick she slept in there all night apart from feed times. Also a swaddle helped my little one x

we put the Moses basket in the next 2 me

i tried that, didn’t work :( he’s been asleep all night in the moses basket. i’ve just taken my bed away from the equation by me sleeping on the sofa lol, so tonight we’re moving upstairs with the basket rather than the next to me xx

oh gosh sorry to be the negative one but the lullaby trust recommend avoiding these as they’re a SIDS risk - they look so lovely and comfy but I think that’s partly where the risk comes from 🫣 https://www.lullabytrust.org.uk/the-lullaby-trust-issues-warning-about-some-popular-baby-sleeping-products-sold-in-high-street-stores/

so i posted this last night as all previous attempts failed… for whatever reason, he didn’t even stir except for a bottle last night! he’s currently asleep in his basket again. don’t know why i was so worried 🤣

We moved our son into the next to me, I stared by putting him right at the side so he was next to my mattress and I bought my pillow down so my head was right next to him, if that makes sense. I think it sort of tricked him into thinking he was on the same mattress. Then I gradually moved further away. He's 4 months now and still sleeps in the next to me, but it's got the sides up and against the wall rather than the bed x

he slept in our room in the basket 10-8!x

8 week old in sleeping bag for first time as big enough! Do you feed your child in the night whilst in the sleeping bag or taken them out, feed then transfer back to sleeping bag before putting down?

Leaky nappy help

What nappies are you using to stop leaks?? We use pampers ultra dry size 5, and for the past few nights he has lashed through and we’ve had to completely change him during the night. Last night he leashed through twice!! He sleeps on his front and stays leaks through at the top of his leg where the tabs connect. Didn’t know whether to size up, he has a bit of a belly on him but he’s smack in middle of weight guidance so shouldn’t need too

New born

Finally had my baby girl via C-section on the 18th, everything has been so far. But I’ve noticed she’s very fussy and cries a lot. I’ve been trying to exclusively breastfeed. The lactation consultant at the hospital said I did look like I’m making enough milk for her. She was latching on good at the hospital and now here at home, she doesn’t seem to want to latch at all. She’s been crying a lot and very fussy. I’m just wondering is she’s colic or like maybe she just doesn’t want the breast anymore?

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?
