Hello,
Little one is 4 days old and formula fed, has wet nappies, is eating normal and passing wind/gas but hasn’t had a dirty nappy in 24 hours. She did have a small amount of something in one of her nappy’s last night but not enough that I would class as a proper dirty nappy.
I see a lot of people saying this is normal for formula fed babies ot that they can go days without pooing. I will phone midwife regardless but looking for some mum advice before you see if this happens.
Thanks x

At one of my last appointments at the feeding clinic I use, they said that most GP’s won’t even consider your baby constipated until almost a week without poop- she said it’s very normal for them to not go for a couple of days x

thank you! I knew people where saying a week is normal but was doubting myself x

Our midwife said anything over 3 days to contact them. Formula fed can lead to a little bit of constipation. We did some bicycle kicks and poo exercises with our LO and it helped

Thank you!!

I'd see how it goes, my son didn't go for a week once. I tried loads of stuff, different formulas for example and it still was not frequent for him and even now he is over a year old it isn't everyday pooing for him.
Don't fret, I went to docs a few times very concerned n they told me just wait til they start food n prunes helps massively i think you can do that in the future if it is ongoing. It isn't uncommon but yeah it's hard to watch a little bub not be able to push it out easily :( it gets easier though i promise x
