Hey beauties. So I'm currently 19 weeks pregnant with my miracle baby (first time mum after 5 losses), and I am suffering from the most painful heartburn ever! Prior to being pregnant I was already prescribed meds for my heartburn as I have a small hernia in my oesophagus. But being pregnant I was told not to take them for the 9 months as they aren't safe for bubs. So I've been having Gaviscon multiple times a day and night - but I need something stronger that's safe! Is there any meds I can ask my dr to prescribe that are safe for bubs? I'm in so much pain. X

Have you tried rennies ? Honestly they helped me a little bit. Gaviscon did nothing for me

honestly, I haven't, as I wasn't sure if they were safe. But I'll give them a go, thank you, sweets.. but I'm concerned I'll need a safe prescription med at this point (my hernia causes severe heartburn when I'm not medicated for it) x

Reglan or just Tums !!!

Ask your doctor to prescribe Famotidine. Or you can honestly buy it OTC. That’s what my doctor prescribed me but I found it cheaper at my local drugstore

Congratulations on your rainbow baby 😍 I have heartburn and my obstetrician prescribed rabeprazole, it has been great for me! 1 or 2 tabs a day and I don't get it at all anymore! It's preventive. I didn't have heartburn before I was pregnant though! So not sure if this will work for you.... Chat to your obstetrician and good luck!

For a holistic approach, consider your diet, digestion aids, portion size, position while eating and after eating ect!

I was on an anti acid medication for my first, can't remember ther name but it was a prescription safe for pregnancy. Milk and almonds also helped a little bit..

I’ve had reflux way worse and earlier this pregnancy. Have been put on somac/sozol by my OB. it’s worked for 6-7 weeks but isn’t as effective the more my stomach gets squashed.
Like others have said, I’m trying some other things (rennies don’t work during pregnancy for me), reccies have been yoghurt, milk, dill pickle juice, coconut water and peppermint tea. All safe to try but ask about the prescription meds because they did work almost instantly for me.
