Not had a poo

It’s normal for newborns to go even a few days without pooing.

Now is tht normal for formula fed babies ? Cause my son is 2 months and poops everyday. But hes breastfed.

I breastfed too and she’d go days and days. They are absorbing everything at that early stages so there’s really not much to poop. The midwife said not to be alarmed by 4/5 days of nothing as long as you have wet nappies

My little one didnt have a poo for 2.5 days after changing his formula from aptamil to cow&gate and i got worried so i rang gp and they got back to me that after 5 days of not pooing i need to get back to them

Depends on if breastfed or formula. I think with formula it's more common for them to poop fairly frequently (like every day or few days) with breastfeeding it could be anywhere up to a week. My son was usually every 7 or 8 days because their bodies are so good at using everything in the milk with very little waste left over

I had the same issues the doctor said its fine for them not to of pooped in a week go see gp or a and e

that is correct but sometimes it could be longer if it looks like they are in pain because they have not pooed go a and e and they will give your child a glisarin drip.

I think up to like 4 days is considered normal... anything beyond that you may wanna check in w/doc

Very normal especially if baby is on formula .. you try giving your baby boiled water in between feeds?

my son was exclusively breastfed and did a poo after every feed
My daughter is also exclusively breastfed, but goes once or twice a day, though we did have a week early on where she didn't go for 6 days

Yeah my cousins were both breast fed, one pooped once a day the other around every 5 days. It can vary a lot I just meant it can be more common for breastfed to go longer spells than formula from what I was told.
I remember panicking a lot to start with because of it but as long as tummy isn't hard and they don't seem in pain then it's probably them just finding their natural cycle but as everyone else said if concerned contact gp or go a&e

It’s completely normal! My baby girl once went 5 days without and then had a massive explosion! Aslong as their tummy is soft it’s all good! If you are worried call his doctor/HV and they will be able to ease the worry xxx

It's not normal but very common. Babies should poo daily, this is the norm. I would go off babies behaviour. If they appear in discomfort, try massage and bicycle legs. If persists, I would seek some advice. If you're BF, up your fibre intake and try eating prunes, this can help x
