Baby Registry

I’m curious when did everyone start their registry? I’m currently 14 weeks and my family is already asking about it. I’m a first time Mom and have no idea where to start or figure out what needs to be on the list. Is there any website that you would recommend that has comparisons of items so I am able to see what items are rated for safety and other features.

I’m liking baby list and Amazon because they have checklists. Baby list can have things added from any website. Baby list has some good articles with comparing things but I also end up reading reviews on Amazon and just googling for blogs that compare two things I’m looking at.

@Mylin wow organized good for you !!

@Mylin I would not recommend the rock n play folder sleeper. However, has cause infant deaths and is not safe for young infants. I suggest a bassinet instead. I'm night nanny and an infant specialist for the last 17 years and postpartum doula.

I Started Mine At 11 Weeks And So Far Your Gonna Need A Lot I’ve Put The Basics Cause I’m Also New To This So I’m Here For The Comments❤️

I started one as soon as I found out I was pregnant. Check out BABYLIST download the app. It’ll allow you to add stuff from tons of different stores and online shops including Amazon And Etsy. They also have checklists that you can refer to to help you add things!!!

Avatar

And they also give you a welcome baby box when you finish the set up steps

Avatar

Here’s a better look at how they set up the check list

Avatar

wow thank you so much for letting me know that!! Yeah these lists might change, based on what Ive heard works or is needed and doesn’t/isn’t.

Avatar

Now that i know the gender i can go back and see what all i have and change stuff out with less gender neutral colors and more girly patterns and stuff and they also have top rated lists of baby gear and essentials you can check out also

Avatar

I love the overall organization of it and way they make it for you to pick and find stuff and how you can add stuff from all different kinds of shops and have everything all in one place rather than having set up multiple registries and have multiple links you can just have everything all in one place.

Avatar

You can even add your partner to the registry so they can add stuff themselves if they want

Avatar

AND A GREAT TIP IS DONT BE AFRAID TO ADD STUFF THAT YOUR BABY CAN USE LATER ON AS THEY GET BIGGER INTO TODDLERS YEARS! Whether that’s bigger clothes, children’s plates, cups etc bigger car seat/booster seat, etc! It’ll be very helpful and easier for you in the long run 😊

I started my baby registry like five years ago and just had to go through and delete and change a bunch of things before making it public 😂

I started mines week 8 and I used Babylist cause it had a list of things I needed.

Wdy think of this for a toddler to learn word construction?

I'm open to anything else to start teaching him to read and write. He's 3!

Do men really enjoy fellatio?

Been together more than 10 years, but it's been a while since he even seemed remotely interested in me getting on my knees, or vice versa so to speak. I think it was once last year. Must be something I am doing wrong 🤔. Generally everything else in that department is great and we have two young kids with no extra support, so it's quite surprising we can't keep our hands off each other but may need to try new things. It's basically 2 positions each time with some foreplay.

Vanilla extract

Has anyone used alcohol free vanilla in their babies formal to help them drink?
I’m 100% sure my baby refuses her bottles as she doesn’t like the taste of it!

Just anxious to try it, don’t want her to get used to it and then refuse bottles again after two weeks of using (correct me if I’m wrong but I’ve read you use it for 2 weeks max)

TIA 🙂

Naps

How is everyone doing for naps?

Little one is 9 months old and will have 2 half hour naps and one solid 1 hour - 2 hour nap a day

Then settles for night around 9pm. Wakes for a feed around 3:30 then sleeps until 6-7

Sex post C section

Hi ladies I’m 4 weeks 5 days postpartum and I had a C section. I’m not bleeding properly anymore just some brownish discharge stuff that starts on and off. I’d like to do the deed with my partner; is it okay to do so or shall I wait the full 6 weeks. I feel up for it but also worried because the advice is 6-8 weeks.

Pumping advise

FTM to a 2 week old! I’m breastfeeding and then giving one formula bottle last in the evening before bed. I want to start expressing milk to give me some breathing room and also allow my partner to be more involved in feeding. I’m finding the idea of introducing pumping into my day quite overwhelming though. I don’t want to take milk away from my baby by pumping if he needs it during the day when being breastfeed.

Can anyone advise how I start pumping and when to do it? Thank you!
