Has anyone’s baby has this surgery? Did it help?

My now 8 year old had it just after her 1st birthday alongside having a peg put in
She was instantly a different baby and has only been sick a handful of times in the time since.
I will say though that when she does get a sick bug it is not great! She struggles due to the fundo and really retches. Sometimes she goes bright red in face and it literally looks like she's choking. (She isn't) We use the tube to vent when she has a bug but this isn't always going be there.
Overall though i would do it again for her! She gained weight, she stopped looking like she was full of colds all the time, she was more comfortable and started to actually sleep on her back!
Over time she started eating food, came off all meds, starting fluids orally and now only uses it when I'll and for fluids (as she doesn't drink enough) and fortijuice daily ( is still slow with weight gain and is fluctuates 0.9 and 0.4 centile)
I'd say we have more issues with tube than we did the fundo.

Thank you so much for taking time to reply. I hope you don’t mind my asking but was all this “just” due to reflux for your daughter? I just can’t get it out of my head that he’s got some other awful illness

Seems so, she was born 31 weeks and is a twin. Both girls had reflux but only one was severe enough needed surgery. We saw ent who had look down her throat to look see if anything structural but all came back clear.
The only diagnosis we had was gerd, aspirations presumed to be caused by the reflux causing inflammation in her throat.
