Measuring big

I measured big last pregnancy and was given a growth scan….. they said baby’s belly was measuring big and retested me for GD but it came back negative and that was the end of it (think I was further along though)

at my twenty week scan they said his belly was big but at this most recent one he is just generally big, full stop! Did you go into labour naturally or did you have to have an induction or c section? I’m going to ask more questions at my midwife apt on Friday, it’s just made me a little anxious :)

I get told my babies are big with each pregnancy. 10lb1, 9lb5 and 9lb so far. Have a growth scan with this one in April to see how chunky shes gonna be 💁‍♀️😂

on my goodness 😂 that’s made me feel a little better :) I mean I’m 5ft11 and my partner is 6ft3 so he was never going to be tiny, but I almost died when I saw his estimated weight on the paperwork! Especially with so long to go 🙈

I’m currently experiencing this, baby’s belly big but they have confirmed I do not have GD. Does this mean baby is just on the bigger side ? Xxx

I had an elective c section but it had nothing to do with size of baby etc I was told big baby with my first and he was 8lb8….. it might just mean you won’t have a 6/7lb baby but as long as there is no GD there should be no reason for you not to carry on as normal.

my baby with the big belly came out at 8lb 3, so yes it might just be that baby is bigger…. However he is on the 98th centile for height & weight so it makes sense (he’ll be a 6 footer)

@Nicola im 5ft7 & partner is 5ft11 , my first born is 11 years old and 5ft3 already 🤯 So think height definitely plays a part in the estimated weight! They also can be half a lb out either side when estimating via scan. We were told our third was gonna be 9 and a half-10lbs but she was 9lb exactly.
The average weight I think is around 7lb for a newborn, so they probably even class 8lb as large. 💁‍♀️ x

Just the good ol “your baby is too big, let’s induce you for safety reasons aka so we can plan our rota and have control over your birth)
Babies come in different sizes and shapes and most of the time those measurements are absolute nonsense. Our bodies are designed to deliver different size of babies
