My little one is just over 5 months, and we started solids (rice cereal) a couple of weeks ago. We have been popping him in the baby bjorn bouncer to feed him, however he’s started appearing uncomfortable in this chair for eating and trying to sit himself up further, however is not yet steady enough for his high chair.
Looking for recommendations on some sort of seating for him between the bouncer and high chair without looking to spend a fortune as he’ll likely be ready for his high chair fairly soon (I assume).

The ingenuity bum seat is great, it's even got a little tray and you can strap them to chairs or put them on the bench for ease of feeding.

Bumbo with tray

Hi Tamara, you could get pool noodles to put inside the high chair to support him?

Hate to be that guy- but not being able to sit steady in a highchair means your kid probably isn't ready for solids!
They need to be upright so the bouncer is absolutely unsafe as it's quite leaned back! My advice would be to check out solid starts readiness check list and also their advice on good highchairs (ones with footrests for ergonomics etc)

thanks for the feedback.
I’ve started the solids journey with the assistance of a highly experienced mothercraft nurse so am confident with the process so far.

I had the same problem with my second child. He was low muscle tone and paed said we had to start solids even though he couldn’t sit. I tried 3 different high chairs before I remembered I had this travel high chair from Kmart, which is amazing at supporting them and also great for travel or visiting family or friends or picnics so you’ll get plenty of use out of it. I keep it in my car. I used this even at home until 10mths as he sat so much better in it.
You can strap it to your normal dining chair (and it is very secure) or just sit on the floor with them.

I already have one of those! I’ll have to pull it out and give it a go! Thank you!
