36 weeks tomorrow.

Just had my last growth scan. Baby is now estimated at 6lb 5oz. Two more weeks to grow, as they are giving me a sweep at 38 weeks. Soooo wether not not these scans are actually accurate, I think she will be around 7.12 born. My heaviest was 8.13. but all good and well with the baby!

Why they sweep at 38 weeks?

Avatar

My baby was 5 pound 9oz at my 36wk scan and I’m getting induced tomorrow, also at 38wks ☺️

I am also induced at 39 weeks as my maternal age

I have gestational diabetes, so my midwife wants to start sweeps from 38 weeks. Three times a week. 💓 xxx

Not necessarily Hun, it could work straight away, it could work hours later. Or the next day or two. But that could be a possibility, as they do not want me to go over 40 weeks xxxx

All my other 5 children were born 38/39 weeks. I never went over. My diabetes is very well controlled by my diet, so they aren't concerned about the baby. But it's just normal protocol xxxx

Just well balanced meals Hun, seeded bread instead of white, I can't have tropical fruits or fruit juices or sweetened yoghurt's, I have to have plane yoghurts, some fruits I can eat, no mash potatoes my diabetic nurse said the body finds it hard to break it down as it turns into sugar like nose carbohydrates. I can only drink water, add lemons etc for flavour. Milk is fine so cups of tea etc but with no sugars. Can't have cereals as of all the hidden sugars. You can have meat, vegetables any other form of potatoes, chips are also fine. A cooked breakfast, but a balanced portion. I have to test my blood sugars four times a day. I do have my naughtier days I push my luck and eat some chocolate or not so good foods. But, my blood sugars are still very well managed. 🙂 They won't just induce you because of a diet though lol 😆, they are only giving me sweeps because of my risk being higher with the diabetes, controlled or not. Again it's protocol to encourage my body not to go over 40 week's. ❣️❣️ X

At the beginning when I could eventually eat, as I had very very bad sickness. I did crave a lot of sugary foods, McDonald's etc. And I haven't done that with any of my others. So I blamed myself when I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes. But, I manage it well and tbh I don't think I was too much over the passing point for it. Hence just the healthy diet and not being medicated. As long as you eat things in moderation you will be absolutely fine, so try not to worry :) xxxx

I was the same I eaten alotnof sugary food, constant as he was always hungry then found out 34 weeks I had gd so I'm doing right now 4 times a day blood test, and controlled diet until he born, you can read up about what healthy to eat or not, just try not to eat too much sugary foods in one day I was told just monitor it like

Is this little red bit on my section scar normal? It’s not oozing anything, doesn’t hurt but it’s the only bit on my scar like it so just curious! (19 days PP)
Thank you in advance! 🥰

Anyone else felt like this?

Hi, I’m 4 months postpartum, little one sleeps through the night and is formula fed, the last week I’ve felt extremely tired and very hungry! Just wondered if anyone else has felt this way/experienced this?

Pregnant with baby 2

Hi everyone! I gave birth via emergency c section 9 months ago as my baby boy was measuring big, he pooped inside so there was risk of him inhaling it and I wasn’t progressing past 3cm to have a natural birth and now I’m currently 20 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby. I’m having a consultation on Tuesday to talk about birth options and to have any questions answered but I don’t know what to ask. I feel like it would be safer having a c section again but at the same time I don’t want a c section. Does anyone have any question ideas I could ask or any advice/stories of similar situations. Tia
