My baby girl is about to be 2 months and she just had a frenectomy yesterday, the doctor didn't tell me to do anything but the lactation consultant at wic told me to look up the exercises or whatever and part of what they say to do is tongue stretches where you grab their tongue and stretch where they cut it to make sure it doesn't close up worse. But I can't fit my fingers in her mouth to do that and it seems terribly cruel to do I'm wondering if I should continue to push her tongue up every few hours or just leave that alone since the doctor didn't say to? If anyone else has gone through this at her age, what did you have to do?

We got ours done at almost 6 weeks and the ENT said that exercises are a common misconception but were not necessary as long as you continue to breastfeed or bottlefeed regularly (as baby is using the muscles needed the way they need to use them already). We haven't had any issues.

@Jessica thank God I was worried that I'd mess her up by not doing them right or not doing them often enough.
