TTTT?

I’m 16 weeks pregnant with mono-di twins an I’ve been told they have to have a twin to twin transfusion next week.
I’m so scared as I don’t know much about it an don’t know what the outcome is going to be for my babies.

Has anyone been or going through this an can share me their positive stories as I’m a nervous wreck?

I have mono-di twins too. What do you mean they have to have twin to twin transfusion? I'm in the UK so maybe we have different terminology for stuff.

I’m in the UK too. It’s when one twin isn’t getting enough nutrients an blood flow than the other twin so it puts them both at risk meaning I have to have surgery to give one twin a blood transfusion

Oh I see! You have to have blood transfusion because your twins have TTTS. Sorry, I got confused with 'have to have twin to twin transfusion' . I'm sorry to hear that. That was our biggest concern as well but thankfully mine never had it. We're 35 weeks today. I hope everything goes well for you all ❤️

I highly recommend this book. It ends well. https://www.amazon.ca/Twin-High-Risk-Pregnancy-Happy-Family/dp/1633538338

We had TTTS and TAPS scare but it resolved on its own here.

The science behind the surgery is incredible. And the prognostic is encouraging. Sending good vibes

A blood transfusion for TTTS? I haven’t heard of that but I did have Twin-to-Twin transfusion surgery at 24 weeks. Usually 16 weeks is early and most surgeons try to wait until at least 17-18 weeks at earliest.
It’s laparoscopic, small incision and my surgeon put me in twilight so you are partially awake but loopy. It didn’t hurt but feels like pressure -
Afterwards a lot of doctors will put you on bedrest oe modified bed rest so start setting up some way of taking care of things
My babies had stage 3 and both pulled through alright — I felt way better afterwards too
Now have beautiful 2 year olds
Keeping you in my prayers

thanks hun. I’ll be 17 weeks tomorrow an my surgery is on Thursday.
Maybe I didn’t mean blood transfusion sorry I’m still trying to learn about all of this 🙈
Did it go smoothly an at how many weeks were ur twins born? Was there any complications after? X

You will have laser ablation surgery with TTTS in order to separate shared placenta veins. You probably got confused because one twin is getting more blood than the other but they don’t remove any blood during the surgery. After the laser they may remove amniotic fluid from the baby that has too much.

My mono di twins also had stage 3 and at 21.5 weeks I had the surgery. I was really worried much like you but it all went well. Surgery lasted 35 minutes in total and I was home the next day. Twins were delivered by induction (natural delivery) at 36.4 weeks! They are now two months and thriving!

Try to stay positive as hard as it is sometimes, modern medicine is truly amazing and they’ve come a long way in their knowledge and procedures for ttts! Keeping you and your babes in my prayers <3

I’m going to tell you sounds like a horror story but I promise it ends okay —

I had TTTS laser surgery at 24 weeks exact. During surgery they found my twin had a rare bifurcated dual placenta attachment (there’s more to it, but it’s really rare). It meant that TTTS or TAPs was likely to still be a concern post surgery.

My TTTS developed so quickly and suddenly that post surgery I had issues with cervoxal shortening and was put on modified bed rest with progesterone suppository.

I went into labor early at 29 weeks on the dot. The average person gives birth within about 10 weeks of TTTS surgery. So if you are showing signs get steroids for long and growth development.

My girls came out teeny tiny but crying, breathing on their own. We had a long NICU stay of 74 days but largely for feeding and growing. No major complications

Anyone had a super early postive ?

Hi am i seeing things ? It's only 6 dpo. I had a chemical pregnancy start of February then a period then a positive ovulation strip a week ago Could this be the left over after the chemical ? It just seems so early. This is an early detection test. This came up within 2 minutes of dipping and it says to wait 3 minutes. I've taken two after that arnt as early detection but still what I think are faint positives ? All appeared withing the recommended time frames xxx

At 8DPO negative test result

At 8 DPO not even a faint line , a straight negative test . So does that means it’s a no pregnancy for me this month . Or there are future chances for hcg to rise

I'm so not meant to be a mother.

My kids won't listen to me get into stuff when they know they aren't supposed to. Telling me no all the time. Only listen to their dad. Laughs when I correct them. I spend most of my time yelling at them because they don't want to listen to me at all. My husband said that I shouldn't have kids. And I am believing him on it. I was never meant to be a mother now. I won't hurt my kids I just want to disappear and make everyone else's lives better without me.
