Nap limbo

Hi! My darling girl starts a new nursery in 3 weeks. She'll be in the preschool room and they don't offer naps in that room, in general. How do I get her through the day without an afternoon sleep? She sleeps 12:30 - 2ish at nursery at the moment. I'll pick her up from nursery at 6pm and I'm sure she'll be a mess by then, or fall asleep on the commute home. Thanks for any hints or tips! Pic for tax. x

I’m room manager of a preschool room, and we take our children to a younger room so they can have a good nap or they snuggle themselves up on the story mat! Have you spoke to the preschool about any alternative option? X

I don’t have much advice however we recently relocated and my little one moved from a nursery to pre school and so far I am regretting it he is shattered but also lots of other things have changed we don’t think he is ready so will be looking for a nursery as none of the other children sleep there and he still really needs a nap he just can’t manage without it. I hope your experience is different but so really recommend seeing if there’s a quiet place they can sleep or if any other children sleep otherwise it may be quite a transition for her

thanks so much! I am really worried about the move and all the changes, she's been at her previous nursery from 4 months so it's all she's ever known! I really hope she settles 🥺

I really hope that’s the case I wasn’t trying to put a negative spin on it just maybe better finding out all the facts before she starts x

the room lead did say that if they had the staff and were comfortably in ratio, someone might be able to take her to the toddler room for her nap and then pick her back up again. But they could only do that if numbers were low and I'd like something that's consistent if possible!

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

How many words

Just a quick gauge of how many words your little ones are saying at this age. I heard by 15 months it should be 5 words, are most around this mark ?
