Does anyone else’s baby have problems with baths now? I think it might be mostly a parent fail though😞 On my baby’s 1st birthday in December after he smashed his cake we took him into the venues bathroom and I had a washcloth and soap and we were going to wash him up (like a quick sponge bath) in the sink. My husband turned the water on and the water was super hot as soon as it turned on - usually it takes a little for it to warm up but this sink didn’t and it hit my baby’s stomach. ( I know we should’ve tested the water prior to this we know better we were just not thinking clearly as everyone was still at the party- no excuse I know trust me we beat ourselves up about it everyday) We obviously took him out the second we realized. But now he HATES the bathtub. He loves water and he will splash and sit and play in all water but the second I try to put him in the bathtub he screams bloody murder. I don’t know how to un traumatize him and gently get him to enjoy or not hate baths as much again.. someone please help 😞😞😔😔😣😣

Have you tried getting in the tub yourself and let him stand next to it and see you having fun and smiling. Then maybe have your husband hand him to you in the tub. You could also put him in the tub with no water fully clothed with toys so he can see that the tub is fun and not a scary place. I have no experience with this but if this did happen to me I think this is what I would try. Just give him sponge baths until he’s not traumatized anymore as making him get in could make it worse.
