Vaccination advice

I’m really looking for advice and opinions on vaccines for my baby. I’m not against getting them but also just don’t feel like I know enough about them to make a decision just yet as I’ve had people say to me they don’t agree with them and they can cause issues etc… so I just want as much info as possible. What are everyone’s thoughts and experiences of vaccinating your child? I’m just interested to see everybody’s views (no judgement as I just want to know I’m doing the right thing) thank you x

You can google or ask your questions on chatgpt that will give you a more factual answer than the ones you'll be getting here, but one of the most significant facts you will find online is this: "Significant Reduction in Infant Mortality: Vaccines have contributed to reducing global infant mortality by 40% over the last 50 years." This includes SIDS

Also this "Based on decades of extensive, high-quality scientific research involving millions of children across multiple countries, there is no evidence that vaccines cause autism. " the doctor who suggested there was was called Andrew Wakefield, in 1998. His research has been disproven, paper has been retracted and he has lost his medical licence

It might be worth visiting your pharmacy and asking to speak privately with the pharmacist. They'll be able to answer loads of questions, provide resources, and offer proper guidance. They don't mind helping out any worried parents ❤️

I personally cannot understand why anyone wouldn't vaccinate their child. Surely you would want to do everything you can to protect your child. Anyway that is my opinion. Read studies online, do your own research speak to health professionals and do what is best for you and your child.

I work in pediatric vaccinations and I am so sad at the state of misinformation, fear mongering created by people who are against vaccines.
You see babies at deaths door with things like RSV which are easily preventable and manageable.
I advocate reading up as much as you can from official websites not social media or blogs and if you also had vaccines when you were younger ask yourself what harm they have caused you Vs the potential benefits you have gained.

Bear in mind child mortality has drastically declined in the last 70 or so years, and it’s not by chance. I would recommend looking on the WHO / NHS website for more information.

Because of people having damaging opinions on vaccinations and spreading this rhetoric online, we now see rising numbers of cases of diseases like eg measles.

My daughter just had her 8 week vaccinations, it was a difficult day with her crying and being in pain but ultimately so so important!! Diseases will start to become a big problem again if people don’t vaccinate their children. I’d rather my baby be in a bit of pain for 24 hours than be seriously ill with a deadly but preventable disease

I completely empathise with this! I looked into it and now I’m at the point where I don’t want them to be vaccinated but I also want them to be vaccinated too!! I can see the risks on both sides now and it’s been a horrible time trying to decide. It’s such a huge decision and I just wish the conversation was a bit more well-rounded.

Please remember that vaccinating your children isn’t just about protecting them, it’s about protecting the community as well. It helps protect babies who are too young to have been vaccinated yet, and children who are not able to be vaccinated for medical reasons.

My baby is not even 4 days old and loves to roll on his left side to sleep.

No matter how many time I correct him back on his back he still rolls over. Should I be concerned? His bassinet isn’t wide enough for him to fully roll. When he side lays he can’t go farther than that.

First birthday party timing

What’s the best timing for a first birthday party? (Garden party at home)
Currently 9.5m old, on 2 naps roughly 9 & 13:00. Thinking 11:00-14:00? Is it likely they will drop to 1 nap by then?

Should I be scared for whenever I have sex again?

I haven’t had sex since I was 5 months pregnant & my daughter is already 16 months old. I had a second degree tear as well haven’t even used a tampon or put my finger in there as I’m scared it might either hurt, feel weird or be very loose 🤦‍♀️

Pacifier falling out of mouth

My son is about 1 month old. I was wondering if anyone has tips for helping him keep his paci in his mouth whild he sleeps? We generally only give him the pacifier when he sleeps at night, if that makes a difference.
