So dilemma. Wanted to give my daughter some calpol since she had her jabs yesterday. But she's got to a point with nurofen and calpol whereby she sees you even have it in a pot with a spoon and she throws up. It doesn't even go near her. Tried the whole syringe thing. We were getting somewhere with the pot and spoon method and now we're back to vomiting as soon as she sees the pot and spoon. Not sure what else I can do at this point.

That’s so strange for age to already be doing something like that. Have you tried a different flavour? Or the different types? The real brand instead of cheap or the other way round?
I've tried the colour free, sugar free one calpol and the normal one and normal nurofen. Just at a loss. May I add she is stupidly switched onto things. So doesn't actually surprise me if she has made an association.

My little girl hates calpol/nurofen, I don’t know if it’s the syringe she hates or what it is! With the spoon it gets messy quickly as she wants to feed herself 🤦🏼♀️ if she has calpol during the day (she had her jabs yesterday) I have to make it fun, so she “feeds” me some with the syringe and then I give her some with it. I can’t do this at night time though as she would just be wide awake after.
Last night we put it in her milk, she’s having cows milk now and she devoured the bottle with the calpol in it! Might be worth giving it a go in milk?x

My little girl hated calpol and nurofen, she would be sick whilst I was trying to give it so I gave up. Then someone on here posted about tescos own cherry flavour paracetamol suspension and that has been a total game changer, she loves it that much that she pulls the syringe into her mouth and drinks it! I started off by putting some on my finger or the edges of the syringe and letting her taste it. You could see instantly she loved the flavour and she now takes nurofen much better, unless she's very poorly as she will refuse then but always take the cherry paracetamol. She still absolutely despises calpol too!

My little girl hates Calpol and nurofen as well - mostly she hates and doesn’t allow anyone to put anything in her mouth.
So we now do suppositories and it works like a charm!! Highly recommend. True life saviour!
@Polly ah you can put it in their milk then? I wasn't sure if it eas advised but did debate it

I’m not sure if it’s advised but I’d rather my little one not be in pain and fighting the calpol 🤷🏻♀️ needs must!x

You can get sachet calpol that’s made for mixing with milk / water. (Can give direct but)
