Looking for recommendations for a car seat that is budget friendly? Will just be a spare one for my mum. He’s 6 months old and would be looking for a rear facing until he’s 4 if possible

Depending on his weight and height the joie ispin or stages are probably the best budget. If he’s higher centiles though it won’t last as long as they say x

We brought a Cuggl 360 car seat that goes from birth to roughly aged 12 for £180 which I thought was rather good as then we would only ever need that one car seat for our little girl 😊. https://www.argos.co.uk/product/4524692?clickSR=slp:term:cuggl%20360%20carseat:1:91:1

Agree an axkid move would be a good shout, think they're about 220 so definitely not budget but a good price for ERF
I THINK the joie every stage r129 might be worth looking at too.
It's done on height not weight so might be good if your LO is higher weight centile than tall
It's about 180 I think.
So again not cheap but, sadly, good car seats generally aren't...
Good luck

If your baby is on lower to medium centiles then the Joie stages or the Graco slimfit are both a good option to keep extended rear facing. Make sure they’re the R129 versions though as they’re the ones with extra testing.
Both are exactly the same seat but slightly different prices as the fabrics are a little cheaper on the Graco (think it’s around £140) I don’t think you can get anything cheaper that is as safe as these x
