Pelvic exam triggering loss of mucus plug?

I’m 36w0d today and yesterday I had a pelvic exam to check the shape of my pelvis and see if natural birth would be an option for me (no women in either side of my family have had birth naturally, they were all c-sections). We found out during the exam that I’m a little over 1cm dilated, my cervix is already well softened, and I had experienced some consistent spotting after the exam. Then, this morning, I’m about 75% confident I lost my mucus plug. Is this concerning? I’m becoming a little worried that my little man might arrive earlier now. Thanks in advance for any advice or insight.

Eh it could but only because it was touched. But if it was because of that then it’s just cuz you were ready anyway. Having sex could have done it too probably but your mucus plug regenerates sooo it’s possible just some came out and you’ll still be pregnant for a couple more weeks

I wouldn’t be too worried as losing your mucus plug doesn’t necessarily mean labour is coming soon!
I too had an examination-not a sweep-but just checking how dilated I was/if she could feel baby’s head etc and that triggered me losing my mucus plug too! I lost mine over the course of about a week. I was a little further along than you, about 38 weeks but it was still over 2 weeks after losing my plug that I gave birth(I was 40+4 when I gave birth) Hope this reassures you a little x

Forgot to mention I was also 1cm at the time of the examination and I stayed at 1cm for at least 2 weeks! X

Is this normal?

Is this little red bit on my section scar normal? It’s not oozing anything, doesn’t hurt but it’s the only bit on my scar like it so just curious! (19 days PP)
Thank you in advance! 🥰

Anyone else felt like this?

Hi, I’m 4 months postpartum, little one sleeps through the night and is formula fed, the last week I’ve felt extremely tired and very hungry! Just wondered if anyone else has felt this way/experienced this?

Pregnant with baby 2

Hi everyone! I gave birth via emergency c section 9 months ago as my baby boy was measuring big, he pooped inside so there was risk of him inhaling it and I wasn’t progressing past 3cm to have a natural birth and now I’m currently 20 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby. I’m having a consultation on Tuesday to talk about birth options and to have any questions answered but I don’t know what to ask. I feel like it would be safer having a c section again but at the same time I don’t want a c section. Does anyone have any question ideas I could ask or any advice/stories of similar situations. Tia
