Hi all,
After 6 months of contact napping we’ve finally had a successful transition to cot naps this week. They started off fab, over an hour but have got shorter as the week has gone on. Around 30 mins.
Did anyone else find this and do I just keep going and hope they get longer?
There’s no way of me getting him back to sleep once he wakes, he is wide awake and babbling and smiling away. Never crying!
However, if he only does 3 x 30 minute naps that probably won’t be enough sleep. Do anyone’s little ones just get by on this?
Thanks in advance.

Can I ask how you stopped the contact naps?

We only get 3x30min naps on our average days. And he copes fine on that.

I was dreading it to be honest 😫 on Monday morning he was quite calm so I did the usual dark room, white noise, sleeping bag and I just him down in his cot. Stayed with his rubbing him and singing until he went to sleep. I’ve basically just done that every nap now x

We are on short cot naps. Only reliably managed to put him down (asleep) these last two weeks. This week he seems to wake after 20 mins but then I can soothe him back to sleep after 10 mins and he'll stay down another 30 mins. So might be worth persevering with resettling attempts?

How many days in are you?
I had this when I started napping independently with my LO, I 3 days were good then it went to pot then they went good again!
If not try extend awake time by 15 mins and see if it helps ☺️ my wake windows are quite long atm 2.5 hours 🙈 x
