Serenity Kids Puffs - Heavy Metals 😭

Anyone else freaking out about the recent news that serenity kids puffs have alarmingly high levels of lead, mercury and arsenic?! I literally have been paying extra for this “clean” alternative and may have been poisoning my daughter 😭😭😭 I cried and cried last night because of the mom guilt y’all. I make most of her food/snacks from scratch anyway but it was so convenient to have puffs on hand if needed. The data was just released on the 22nd but a detailed article can be found on Lead Safe Mama’s website!

Wait, what?! 😭 I give these to my daughter too. Not all the time but sometimes while I’m prepping her food to keep her occupied.

That’s exactly what I do. A handful here or there during food prep or when we’re at a restaurant. I’m just afraid of it adding up in her teeny tiny body😭

this just goes to show even “clean” companies only care about the bottom line.. $$! Can’t trust anyone.
I’m sure the babies are just fine tho!!! I’m like how do I make homemade puffs?! 😂

I was wondering the same - homemade puffs! Lol

I've been panicking too over Cheerios - both my 10.5m old and 4.5yo love them. 😭

Since my daughter is almost 11 months, I may just switch to homemade crackers. I have been wanting to make some for easy, on the go snacking anyway! I have a recipe in a baby food cookbook I bought a while back that are chickpea based and recommended for ages 9 months - 12 months. I can post a picture if yall are interested! Feeding Tiny Bellies on Instagram has a lot of homemade alternatives for mainstream snacks/crackers too!

is there a 2nd page? Does it say how long to bake them for? And how long they save for?

I've never tried these. We just buy organic veggie straws, those are a big hit. Though heavy metals are in so many things we eat, the best way to buffer absorption is getting adequate calcium and magnesium. I'm sure you're giving them a really nutritionally dense diet which helps.

Thank you for posting this! My husband and I were just discussing letting our little have some “junk” food snacks in her Easter basket. Until now she only eats things that can be grown and meats with the occasional clean bread or muffin. I guess we’ll keep it that way

Ahhh I have my baby a bunch! What about lesser evil snacks?

I just want to say ladies if you are feeding your babies carrots, sweet potato, parsnip, rice, or any type of root vegetable your are feeding your baby heavy metals unfortunately 😩😢 something I had to learn and try really hard to cut out of her diet

Just wanted to post an easy puff recipe from @feedingtinybellies on IG! Here’s the link. I just made them! Super easy and pretty good! She has a few variations for flavors. 🤗

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

My little one is struggling with sleep

Hey! I'm in need of some advice please girls! My little boy is 20 months turns 21 months in 2 half weeks. He use to sleep through the night now he is waking up every single night in the early morning, I've had to transition him to a toodler bed as he kept climbing out his cot. Just need some advice on what I can do to help him get back in to a sleep pattern?

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

6 month old autistism

My 6 month old makes no eye contact with me and doesn’t respond when I call him. Can this just be a phase or personality trait as apposed to autism

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

5.30am wakeups 😫😴

My 15 week old has started waking up about 5.30am and is really hard to settle back down - it’s like he thinks it’s time to wake up for the day. He used to go to bed at 9pm and was up at 8am but now he goes to bed between 7.30-8pm as he’s knackered by then but waking up at 5.30am😴. Any advice to get him to sleep a little longer in the morning?! Even an extra hour would be lovely 🤣
