@Tiffany like it means roman silver coin
It's not that far from Demetrius. I kinda like it. I like Draco too.
Wb Darius, Damon,Darren,
@Monica have family members with those names
@Holly I liked Demetrius as well I was gonna spell it demetryus
I don’t think choosing a name that is historically relevant to a different country is cultural appropriation. Names are acceptable everywhere no matter where they started. I mean my name is technically French but I was named in the US. I am American. I know people named the Russian variant who are here in the US & not of Russian descent. It would be ridiculous or far fetched to call it appropriation
Stick with it. I don't have a Scottish name despite my roots
Choose whatever names you like. You don't have to be welsh to have a welsh name and you don't have to be french to have a French name so why should any other name matter.
I have a French name and am not French. I don’t see a problem at all.
I’m happy for someone to correct me but Denarius is a Roman/latin word so I’m not sure why you would need to have Africa heritage to use it anyway?
No do not change the name, if you like it keep it. It’s a Latin name, and the person is probably just ignorant just because it ‘sounds’ like a ‘black name’ 🙄.
Lol the eye roll I rolled while reading this. Keep the name!!
My daughters called Ocean & she’s not a mermaid.. my other daughters called Ophelia and she’s not related to Shakespeare x
@Leah honestly same here

I honestly thought of the French name, Darius. Either way, all names come from somewhere and the more people use them, the more common they'll become. My name is Hebrew, but think of how many Danielle's there might have been centuries ago compared to now..
I’m mixed and honestly names are just names. A bit weird someone would imply your child has to be off a certain race to have a specific name. It’s not like you’re trying to name him Martin Luther king jr or something you know😂
