C-section swelling

Hi ladies, I had a c-section last week and I’ve had swelling in my feet and legs since (little bit in my hands also). It’s been about 6 days now and swelling still there. Is this normal? Or should I be concerned? Anyone else had the same?

I think I was quite swollen too. Drink lots of water, try and move to get your circulation going and try putting your feet up as much as you can

Yup it’s normal. I had mine swollen for almost a month post c section. Drink water and lift your leg up when laying on the bed (it helps for me)

Yeah! My swelling didn’t go down for 10 days, my feet and legs were like balloons! Like everyone else said, Keep your feet up when you can and stay hydrated ❤️

I had loads of swelling eventually subsided after 3 weeks. I had to elevate legs etc. was told completely normal even though it didn’t feel like it to me. Try to avoid legs down when sat down and avoid standing for prolonged periods x

I was so swollen after mine for about 10 days that I struggled to walk. Then it literally just disappeared over night x

I had this! My sister in law is a midwife and confirmed it's super normal x

I had this! Could barely get shoes on! Drink lots of water and try and get your legs up, I found walking around a little did help though too!

Yes I also had this for a few days after, I just drank lots of water, did leg exercises when sat still and tried to move around bit more! I also wore compression socks for the days they were swollen which also helped! Xx

I was quite swollen for 9days, I made sure I got the community midwife and health visitor just to check it was okay when they visited. They said aslong as it wasn’t hot or just swelling on one side it’s very normal. Try to drink plenty of fluids, elevate your legs as much as you can but also get up and move as much as you are able to too. Xx

Yup day 11 my feet finally looked normal

@Emily is normal just drink a lot of water and put your feet on your pillow when sleeping or on a table when sitting

Keep your legs upright

I had this and it wasn’t normal. I had post natal preeclampsia (was due to really high blood pressure) I didn’t have it during pregnancy so would get it checked to be on the safe side x

Yeah it’s normal, it will eventually go down x

It’s been nearly 10 months now but I want to say that it took a good two weeks for my swelling to finally go down. I even slept with my feet elevated. 😵‍💫

Yes I had this for five weeks x

Yep all normal

I was swollen for awhile as well. I purchased compression socks which helped and tried to walk around as much I could. It’s cause of all the fluids.I also elevated my feet as much as I could. It will go down eventually.

I had my c section March 16 and it went down in 5 days but I was drinking a lot of water and walking as much as I could with the pain and weakness I felt
