Am I selfish for wanting a Baby Moon?

Is anyone else planning to go on holiday prior to 32 weeks? I’m currently 26 weeks and planning one now seems rushed. My partner thinks it’s slightly selfish of me stressing over a holiday when we have an excess of things to pay for but I know I need it for my mental health before I think about pushing this baby out. Am I being selfish?

I really wanted a baby moon and also 26 weeks. I work in travel insurance so have seen many disasters going abroad and people in prem labour. We also have a lot of outlay at the moment, but I may try and get a little Uk get away or spa day to unwind. I absolutely share your thoughts x

I wasn't planning on one but my husband booked us a little family holiday for the end of next month, only fo 5 days as its my 30th and was kind of bummed I couldn't do anything I had planned on doing for it due to being pregnant! I'll be 27 weeks the day we fly out! Definitely don't think its selfish, you need that space! Even if its not your first baby a new baby is stillna massive change and its a hard (but lovely) few months/years! We likely won't go abroad now until this baby is about 4, and haven't been since 2019 before we even started trying for our first born!

No, I am completely with you. Need a holiday. Will probably be my last relaxing one but my partner doesn't want to go. Actually just thinking of going myself, I am 24 weeks. X

@Stacey im also 30 this year and be 27 weeks on my birthday and not sure what to do for it :(

I really want to go for one. Our pregnancy has been far from plain sailing. We are still really high risk and at risk of pre term birth. Perhaps an overnight stay in a hotel and spa may do the trick.

Not selfish at all! I booked mine couple weeks after we found out and we had it when I was 19 weeks. Best decision ever!

@Bibi did you go by yourself or with your partner?

@Mikaila ok perfect! I would so suggest going. Live with no regrets

@Alice I love spa days and breaks which I do all the time. I’m mainly chasing the sun

Not selfish, it's the last opportunity to do something before a big change, to bond and relax and set you up for those life changes... just be careful about things like Zika and take the necessary precautions regardi g longer distance travel (compression socks etc). We're going to Canada for 3 weeks end of April and I'll be a similar gestation to you (slightly earlier). It's a family holiday to see family but we're going to make the most of it. My OH HATES the term baby moon though... so we just call it a holiday!!! (Except in my head where its a baby moon of course!! 😅). X

I went on one 2 weeks ago when I was 24 weeks to Lanzarote, best thing ive done for myself this whole pregnancy!! Was very relaxing and got to spend quality time with my partner before I got to uncomfortable to travel or do to much activities.

No I don’t think selfish? Just obviously be careful with where you go and make sure you know where hospitals are etc

I really want to go on one but my partner has only just gone back to work after 3 months so we can't afford one 😔 I'm actually getting jealous of everyone posting about having a little holiday before all our babies are born

Will be a having our baby moon in May at centre parcs with all our family. It’s only 1.5 hours from us in too nervous to leave the country before baby is here just in case

My husband booked us a babymoon as part of my Christmas. We're going away in 3 weeks when I'll be almost 26 weeks. My son is going to stay with grandparents when We're away. Definitely not selfish to go!
