Day time naps

Has anyone started putting their baby to sleep in a cot in a separate room for day time naps?? My little girl is 14 weeks old this week and we still have contact naps through the day. Sometimes she will sleep on her own on the sofa in a sleeping nest.

I tried to do this for the first time yesterday and got her down 5 times but she woke up within 5 minutes every time 🫠 Currently cleaning the kitchen with her in a sling asleep 😴

I haven’t tried in the cot because it just looks so huge for my LB but I have him in the next to me crib in my room for some naps to get him sleeping independently during the day. I don’t do this for all of his naps because we love a cute cuddly contact nap and they won’t last forever 🥺

my daughter naps in her cot on a day time. I have the monitor with me so i can sit in the living room or just tidy up. If she wakes up after around 5/10 mins I put her in the sling and she falls back asleep. 9 times out of 10 she naps perfectly fine in it xx

I’ve tried a bit here and there but not putting pressure on it💛

Sometimes I can get him to sleep in his cot but a lot of the time he just stays in the lounge with us. He only really has one big nap a day and then the rest are 20-40mins, they're usually contact naps or next to us on the sofa xx

We do for the first nap of the day in her cot but also recently she has been not wanting to nap on me or in the Moses sometimes so I’ve tried her cot and she’s gone off to sleep instantly so she obvs likes it! X

Thank you everyone. I’m only asking as I am potentially starting a new job as a residential support worker 2 days a weeks so I want her to be able to nap on her own through the day while am away for work x

I’ve started to do naps in his next to me during the day. It’s not always successful and generally I need to lie next to him so he falls asleep. This does mean though I end up having danger naps when I should be sorting the house out 😅😂

@Molly what monitor do you have? Been looking but there’s so many options 🤷🏼‍♀️

@Jayne Ive got the HelloBaby one. I got it as part of my leaving gift before I went on maternity leave. Not sure how much it costs xx
