If he don’t go to the hospital he can’t put it on anyways
If you’re not married he would have to go through the extra step of an AOP anyway so he wouldn’t be on the birth certificate. I put my boyfriend on the birth certificate at the hospital but when I received it at home it didn’t have his name on it bc we didn’t fill out the AOP until we got home as you need two witnesses to also sign it and they can’t be family
You don’t have to , but if you ask the state for support, they will make you put him on and investigate for child support through him , he can also have his name added if he wants to take you to family court … do yourself a favor and don’t put him on , get the official birth certificate with the stamp , 2 copies ( without his name on it ) , then get you and your baby passports and the passport card so no one can tell you where you can and can not go with your baby .
I didn’t put my kids father on it but he did went to the court to be on it tho so they put him on the birth Certificate but my kids don’t have his last name tho they have my last name
You definitely don’t have to have anyone in the delivery room that you do not permit no matter how involved their family is.. he can’t sign the certificate unless you permit it.. everything is based on what YOU want..
It’s your choice. No one in the hospital can force you to make him sign. It’s totally up to you and sounds like a good decision.
It’s up to you if you want him on the birth certificate or not. I chose not to have mine on my daughter birth certificate.
