@Brittany I did my 20 week anatomy scan and they told me he is measuring 2 weeks in advance but they are still going with the due date that I gave them.
Then talk to you doctor about that normally that much of a difference they should change your due date.
I thought doctors were supposed to go by what baby is measuring as. At the beginning of my pregnancy, my OB had me listed as the weeks and due date I gave them based on my lmp, but when I went in for my ultrasound, they realized that baby was measuring a full week ahead, and said I probably ovulated earlier, so they changed everything in the system to what baby was measuring and also changed the due date based on that. They told me that they go by what the ultrasound says.
They are suppose to
I’m due in April. My baby has been measuring 10day-2weeks ahead since 20weeks. I’m now 37weeks and had a growth scan at 36weeks and he’s measuring 39+5days. I’ve now been booked in for a C Section due to measurements 😢. My first c section birth after my first two were vaginal normal births.
@Brittany ok thank you
@Johanna yeah that’s what I had thought as well that they would adjust the date I just thought it was odd
@Jessica yikes that’s a huge difference so does that mean baby is more far along than thought? I’m praying for you to have a safe delivery 🙏🏾
@Jessica they are still going off my due date April 16 but he is measuring big. My husband and I are both tall, so potentially he is just a tall baby. But remember ultrasounds can also be wrong by a few days either side of our dates. Thank you.
I was told my one son was "big" for his age and everything he was born at 39 weeks 3 days all natural birth and he came out 7lbs 14oz 22 inches long and they found when they checked him out his body was perfectly on par with his age and everything. He was just a big boy. My friend has a 10lbs baby boy and he was born at 39 weeks and his lungs were under developed. Some people just have bigger babies. 🤷♀️ Hence why gestation and due dates are honestly just guesses till they pop out of you!
Did they do an ultrasound to verify?
