Post C-Section

Just wondering how soon after giving birth can I massage the incision area? I’m currently 4 months pp. I’d also like to try out the silicone sheets for scarring. Not sure if they actually help or just another gimmick 😵‍💫😅

i was told by my surgeon (NHS) to use the silicone sheets and when asking my midwives they’ve seen peoples scars heal beautifully with them, the advice given was to wear the patch 24/7 only removing to shower, but make sure you put it down sticky side up before shower, don’t let the sticky side touch anything because of infection etc, he also told me to buy them from pharmacy kit online

What are these silicone sheets??

Yes...I'm curious to know what the silicone sheets are too 👀

I've been using a balm to massage my incision area. I'm also 4 months PP. You have to remember to use it every day for optimum effect. It does help, though. My scar has sort of faded away, and this is my second c section. I didn't think it was possible, but it is, and I swear by the balm. It's by Naydaya, and it's called Scar Saviour.

@Holly @Zee Silicone scar patches. You can get some from Amazon. Just like a clear bandaid that heals scar tissue. I learned about em after I had a big surgery on my arm. I didn’t stay consistent with using them so I can’t speak to how well they work but heard good things

Whenever it feels comfortable to do. I'd avoid if it feels tender x x

You can start scar massage after 6 weeks, as long as you are completely healed.

Can you wear these patches early on in the recovery or do you need to wait xx

Thankyou all for your responses and advice xx
