Planned C-Section

Hello! I just had confirmed my planned c-section - due to health reasons.

Any advice from mamas who went through it previously? I am very anxious. Particularly about aftercare. Would appreciate positive stories.

Any advice on support belts?

I didnt have planned csection, i had emergency. And tbf it was good experience. I've heard that planned are even better. From me: keep small pillow, and put it on your belly when trying to stand up, or cough. Help little bit with scar. I havent used anything On my scar, just ive tried to ventilate it so much, and keep it dry. Very high waisted pants was must have for me. And I havent use support belt.

I had an emergency section 10 days ago and was completely unprepared as my first birth was so uncomplicated. It was no way near as bad an experience as I expected but very daunting.

Personally I found being mobile as soon as possible helped me a lot. I was up on my feet within a few hours and had the catheter out within a few hours too. With movement, build up little by little, don’t force it.

In terms of incision, keep the area dry and get air to it. I have my partner check mine daily as I’m not yet ready to look at it. Take pain relief, don’t try to go without. For the first few days you’ll be taking pain relief every 4-6 hours. I stopped taking anything by day 8.

Get yourself disposable underwear at least 2 sizes bigger than you are now and everything high waisted. Heat patches on my back also helped.

It’s hard and you’re swollen for about a week but it gets better every day and is so worth it x

I had an emergency c section 3 years ago and about to have a planned c section in 2 weeks time. All said above I agree with... and to add... ask your partner or who ever is picking you up to drive incredibly slowly in thr car journey home. You feel every single bump in the road and its not pleasant. Don't rush yourself/ recovery. Take your time and get all the support available to you from health workers/ friends/family. And DO NOT forget to take your next meds, set alarms on your phone. I would even take them 10mins early, you don't want the pain to creep in. I did it one night and woke up in the worst pain of my life. With the meds all working its really manageable. I know everyone's experience is different but my c section was a positive experience last time and I have no nerves or anxiety about this one. Welcome to the c section crew.! You'll be fine! X

Is this normal?

Is this little red bit on my section scar normal? It’s not oozing anything, doesn’t hurt but it’s the only bit on my scar like it so just curious! (19 days PP)
Thank you in advance! 🥰

Help

I was getting pretty painful period cramps and during those, I had painful lower back cramps. I had these on and off for like a few hours so from about 10:30pm to 1am?

I’ve had no show, or anything like that.

Is this braxton hicks or early labour pains?

Anyone else felt like this?

Hi, I’m 4 months postpartum, little one sleeps through the night and is formula fed, the last week I’ve felt extremely tired and very hungry! Just wondered if anyone else has felt this way/experienced this?

Early waters/pre term labour?

I can’t get checked until later today unfortunately. I can’t tell if I’m leaking/starting early. I definitely think I’m having braxton hicks yesterday and today.. i have some pain in my back but she is quite low down so hoping it’s just pressure, baby was a little quieter yesterday but she’s back to more normal movements today, but my underwear just seems to get so wet, especially after going to the bathroom. And I honestly can’t work out the smell, I’m pretty sure it’s just discharge/urine leaking but there’s that worry in my mind a little. Are there any other ways to know/check if it could be the start of it all?
