I thought the same. He wasn't warm but it is allergy season, so I thought his allergies may be bothering him. He cried tears, but he didn't make noise, so I don't think he's dehydrated. I'm hoping it's allergies, but who knows. It threw me off when she said he's so sleepy daily.
I give my son Zyrtec every night all year long for allergies. It may also help him sleep. It’s a lot of change with the new school and sleeping arrangements so maybe just give him time. I’ve been seeing ads for Magnesium cream for kids to help with sleep. I can’t remember the brand. Does he nap well at school? Maybe he needs an earlier bedtime.
I agree with the magnesium cream after bathtime and an earlier bed time. 8sheep organics is a nice brand, I also use a roll on I purchased off of Amazon - mainly to aid any growing pains + help my son have a more restful sleep after a heavy activity day. If you can, I'd also do a midday pop up. Check for yourself to see how he's performing and what his surroundings are like. Maybe it'll help you get the full picture.
My first thought is maybe he's coming down with something. The dry crying could be dehydration especially if it's in the morning.... or maybe he just needed to sleep in a little longer today they are still so little and don't understand scheduling they just go by how thier body feels he may of just needed some extra cuddle time to wake up more
