Bedtime routine struggle

I can’t complain about my little girl much because once she goes to sleep on a night she does sleep for around 5-7 hours however I’m really struggling with getting her to go to bed earlier. Ever since 2 weeks old she’s gone to bed at around 00:30/1am and she’s now 10 weeks and still does the same. I’ve pushed her routine a bit earlier and we’re usually done and ready for bed for 21:00/22:00 however no matter what I do she will not go down for a sleep until 00:30. She’s really fussy if I try and put her down for a sleep earlier than that.

She’s been a bit fussy throughout the day recently and refusing day naps (I think it’s due to leap 2) she had a better day today and actually managed to sleep… I just don’t know what else to do?

I’d love to get her into some sort of a routine but I’m not putting too much pressure on myself and her to achieve that, she is still only 10 weeks old after all.

She usually has her bath around 20:30pm and she’s ready for bed at 9pm. She goes on the boob for a feed at around 21:30-10pm and she’ll be wide awake so we sing some songs, massage, get some of her toys out (sensory cube where it just jingles and crinkles) to get her tired but she’ll just be wide awake and cranky 😂 we give her a ‘bedtime bottle’ at midnight with expressed milk in and it fills her right up then she’ll sleep. I’ve tried giving her the bottle earlier and she just stays always 😂😂

Am I expecting too much too soon? I just feel like her current bedtime is so late.

I am struggling with this with my son. He goes to bed around 11 every night and we are wanting him to go to bed earlier but don’t know how to get that to happen. Because he’s wide awake.

Following as I’m currently trying to figure out a good bed time routine, too. The only thing I can think of, would you be able to switch the toys to come first and then the more relaxing stuff like bath, feed, etc.? I feel that toys and playtime do tire my son out but he needs a while to wind down afterwards even for naps throughout the day. Maybe it’s the same for your daughter? All babies are different though.

Try not to be so hard on yourself. It’s still early days. You and baby will find your rhythm. I’ve seen NHS advice about introducing a routine at 3 months but not all babies are the same and some may be ready later for this. The NHS does have some good tips to help baby go to bed:

https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/baby/caring-for-a-newborn/helping-your-baby-to-sleep/

Mainly seems to be about getting the baby to recognise day and night so your routine at night is quieter. All babies are different though and what works for one, doesn’t for another. I’m sure you’ll find what works for you and your baby. Good luck ❤️

I’ve tried doing this too😭 I’ve tried absolutely everything and trying to swap things around and nothing is working 😂😂

Maybe remove the stimulants completely after bathtime?
When my daughter was 1 month, my doctor suggested starting a relaxing routine for bed - bath, massage, bottle, reading a book. So I more or less had been trying that - I don't give a bath every night. But I make sure the room is on the darker side, just a small nightlight. No TV after bathtime. Sound machine on during bottle.
I think removing the light and the TV had been the biggest contributors of her going to bed earlier

Leaky nappy help

What nappies are you using to stop leaks?? We use pampers ultra dry size 5, and for the past few nights he has lashed through and we’ve had to completely change him during the night. Last night he leashed through twice!! He sleeps on his front and stays leaks through at the top of his leg where the tabs connect. Didn’t know whether to size up, he has a bit of a belly on him but he’s smack in middle of weight guidance so shouldn’t need too

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

6 month old autistism

My 6 month old makes no eye contact with me and doesn’t respond when I call him. Can this just be a phase or personality trait as apposed to autism

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

New born

Finally had my baby girl via C-section on the 18th, everything has been so far. But I’ve noticed she’s very fussy and cries a lot. I’ve been trying to exclusively breastfeed. The lactation consultant at the hospital said I did look like I’m making enough milk for her. She was latching on good at the hospital and now here at home, she doesn’t seem to want to latch at all. She’s been crying a lot and very fussy. I’m just wondering is she’s colic or like maybe she just doesn’t want the breast anymore?
