Steri strips

I’m 4 weeks post csection and all of my steri strips are still in place. I was never told to remove them, so I thought they’d just come off on their own, but I saw on another thread that most people seem to lose them by week 2 or so. My follow up appointment isn’t until the 30th. Am I the only one with these strips still? It’s freaking me out 😳

My steris were taken off day 5.

Personally I’d remove them, they don’t look the most sterile and your wound needs to breathe xx

In the UK here - my dr took mine off 17 hours after I gave birth 🫠 my section then re opened 11 days later

yikes, that sounds scary!

I was told to leave them on for 2 weeks and they would start to fall off on their own. Some of them did but many stayed on until my 4-week appt. My doc scheduled a 4-week appt specifically to look at my wound healing and at that appt. she took off the remaining strips.

I'd remove them and if there's any issue once their off schedule an appointment

I’m in the U.K. and my dressing was taken off on day 5. I was told to keep it clean and dry and all looks good so far

Mine were falling off by day 5 except for 1 at my checkup my doctor asked if I wanted to keep it on or take it off I had him just take it off

If you rub a little baby oil on them it will help break down the adhesive. Then just wash as normal in the shower and they will start working off

Avatar

Have you been showering and washing that area? They can come off but having like water and rubbing that area will help

Mine didn’t fall off a few weeks later like they said they would. I was also too squeamish to take them off myself or let my partner do it, so a nurse did it for me about 4 weeks op when I was there for an appointment for something else!

The midwife tork mine off when she came round to do her checks at home ect x

Avatar

When mine got very loose my mom took them out and everything was fine

Avatar

My doctor told me to remove mine 1 week post op

Avatar

My midwife told me to have a bath and take them off at my home appointment and she’d double check the scar on day 10 when they come round, all been fine. Just soak them and peel off x

Avatar

I would call your doctor and ask if you can take them off. Mine started coming off or getting loose after a few times in the shower, and I would just take off the loose ones. I think 4 weeks is too long to be on. So, please call your doctor and ask.

You trim the edges as they lift ♥️♥️

Steristrips doesn’t come off alone, usually you can remove them 1-2 weeks after.

Avatar

I would def take them off if there is no leakage the wound may now be knitted together and dry so you’re skin will be better able to breathe and be healthier without the steristrips covering new healthy skin x

Lost friends since being a mum

Good morning! Can anyone relate to this!

My two friends and me have always been close since our early teens. I’m the first to have a baby.

One friend has big house, career and boyfriend

Other out of a long term relationship and being single having fun etc

Before baby we would all hang at my
Apartment, chat eat and just have
Fun.

Now I don’t even get a text to ask how my baby is, how I am. I really thought they would be awesome aunties. But honestly they don’t care.

They meet up a lot to do cool things, which I can’t be upset about as I can’t as I have my baby.

I don’t know I feel sad about it.

Am I over reacting?

31 weeks pregnant and lonely

How to deal with loneliness in pregnancy when your boyfriend goes out with his friends drinking 😅🥲 I only have three friends, two are never really free and one lives back in Liverpool and has her own set of friends where she goes to raves and goes on holiday with them lol. My boyfriend is going out soon for the night as it’s sunny and I’ll just be sat here crying like every single time! When does it stop 🤣
