Time and time again on this app I see arguments turning to full blown hatred towards others simply because of differing beliefs!! So let’s start by saying just because you believe on thing does not make it right nor wrong but it also does not mean that everyone else on this planet needs to share that same belief or opinion as you and if we don’t it is not an invitation to respond with hateful comments.
So here is a list of MY own controversial beliefs…I couldn’t care less whether you agree or disagree but at least respect them. Feel free to add in the comments but NO HATE!
**SIDE NOTE my individual beliefs do not impact or affect anyone else so no need for hate if you don’t like it simply move on**
1- circumcision unless medically necessary or for religious purposes shouldn’t be performed
2- I don’t consider spanking abuse but I do consider it lazy parenting.
3- people who choose not to vaccinate are risking their own kids health and well being
4- I don’t believe in baby showers! If you cannot afford to buy all basics for your child you shouldn’t be having a child.
5 - do not have a child unless you can afford it. It’s your responsibility to provide no one else’s.
6- Abortions are not contraception!
7- If you choose to have unprotected sex you are choosing to accept the risk of pregnancy!
8-early weaning can be necessary in certain situations
9- breast milk is scientifically better for your child but just because you can doesn’t mean you should! Fed is best in the long run.
10-screen time absolutely nothing wrong with it as long as it’s not for hours on end.
11- just because you had an induction or epidural or a c section does not make you a failure as a mother or a woman! Your birth your choice ❤️

I must say I agree with everything you’ve said, it’s spot on for my own beliefs along with people can do what they want without projecting and forcing others to think the same way😂x
I just think it’s so bizarre we live in a society now where if you disagree with someone it seems the go to is to abuse them when there really is no bloody need!!! How boring would life be if we all thought the same ?!

I love the want to not fight about beliefs. I do believe that people should just be able to conversate normally about things. I have come on here before to ask for advice and had explained everything I did to help and I felt like the responses I got was “oh let me make her feel shame because she’s not handling a situation a way that I believe is best” it’s hard.
I was told I was a terrible mum because I formula fed , had an epidural , an induction , weaned at 4 months and that makes me an awful parent apparently because I didn’t follow the textbook GUIDANCE 😂😂😂😂 ohhh the shame !

I love discussing different views. That’s how we grow and expand. Not everything has to be a fight. I agree with everything you said, except for the baby shower❤️
the baby shower thing for me like the whole principle is to shower the mother with gifts which is totally fine, but for me we planned to have a christening also so we didn’t want people feeling obliged to buy presents for us for our shower then gift for the christening also as I know times are hard for many people right now. So we wanted to be considerate of others financial circumstances too! I see so many posts on here of expectant mothers who plan baby showers and act entitled or disappointed because a guest couldn’t afford to buy something from the gift registry that was sent out and then the mother got very angry by it which I think is absolutely unfair. But again it’s just down to preference and individual circumstance ❤️❤️

That is completely understandable! I view a baby shower as a celebration of life, and gifts are optional. We didn’t do a Christening, but we did have a baby shower for my daughter. I made it known that gifts were not expected because she had everything she needed. I think it just depends on the parents expectations of the shower!
absolutely !! I think If it’s seen more as a get together to celebrate that’s a nice idea but for those who expect the gifts and only throw a shower to get gifts is distasteful and inconsiderate of others financial situations x

Exactly! If we were all the same we’d be clones, it’s good to have different opinions so there’s a good conversation to flow and to keep everything much more interesting!x

I came here thinking this would be a constructive conversation until I saw the thing about abortion. You never know someone's situation and to counter your point someone should have a child they can't afford if their birth control fails? There's alot of differences in views or opinions like screen time/no screen time where this conversation is super valid but when you are actively against women that's not really a "can we just agree to disagree" thing and you are absolutely wild in making this post with some of these "differences"
to explain further that abortion is not contraception…so in cases such as birth control failings , baby not compatible with life etc yes I agree with it.
However, those who CHOOSE not to use contraception or birth control at all have made a conscious decision to accept the risk of pregnancy. These same people then act surprised about falling pregnant when they failed to try to prevent in the first instance. Now once I can understand but when women choose to do this multiple times and opt to abort because they choose not to use contraception I disagree with. Hope that clears it up.
I am in no way against women - I am not against abortions and I do believe they are necessary in certain circumstances but I just disagree with women who choose to have unprotected sex on multiple occasions and then have multiple abortions because they failed to take birth control in the first instance which could have potentially prevented it.

Obviously you've never been in poverty with inability to have birth control. There's plenty of women who can't afford insurance who still have husband's and lives and they're just supposed to never have sex if they can't afford or recieve contraceptives? Why do you care how many abortions someone has? You're not paying for them or receiving them. Sounds like sticking your nose in something you know nothing about. Statements like yours are part of the reason why women now have issues accessing abortion and contraceptives today.

Everybody has their freedom of opinion I don’t agree with half the stuff on your list and that’s ok as long as your not one of those moms that shame others based on your beliefs like say if I said I was circumcising my baby and you gave me a million reasons why you think I shouldn’t and get mad when I chose not to accept your advice is when it becomes and issue it’s freedom of opinion and freedom of choice noones gets a say besides you as the parent other than that it’s all peace and love 👌🏼 do you momma
a lot of countries allow access to free birth control.
As I said in my post each to their own opinion you don’t have to agree with my beliefs that’s absolutely 100%. You have your views I have mine. There is absolutely zero need for hostility just because we share DIFFERING opinions which was my main point of this post.

Well America which I'm assuming you're from doesn't which just makes your statements so anti woman especially with what the state of the country is now. You're anonymous because you know most people don't agree with you and wouldn't want to further talk with you if they did match due to views like these. As a woman with a daughter people like you are the ones who ultimately take away things that are useful tools to so many in adverse situations. It's not right and you can try to "clarify" til you're blue in the face but your views on that are just plain wrong. I hope you don't ever have a daughter who ends up in a situation where she would need an abortion due to unprotected sex.
oh god no, you have your child and you parent how you see fit it’s not my child not my business! Long as your child is healthy safe and happy !! This is just my own personal views and as I say I don’t expect everyone to agree. But it seems in this day and age we live in a society where people disagreeing with others automatically gives them the right to hate and show hostility towards one another ! Whatever happened to healthy discussions and debates instead of literally abusing one another! It’s ridiculous nowadays that we Shame other mothers for doing something differently 🤷🏻♀️ but again my main point of the post was that regardless of your individual preferences or beliefs, does not mean you deserve to be shamed for it by anyone !
Lord knows I’ve had my fair share of shame because I had an induction , epidural , formula fed, vaccinated (was told I’m asking for my kid to be autistic), weaned at 4 months, had her in her own room at 17 weeks etc.
I’m from the UK so free contraceptives. But one could argue that if you can afford an abortion you can afford contraceptives ….? As I say I am not American can’t speak for the state of their country and their health care regulations.
You are essentially proving my point that you think it’s okay to hate on someone because we share differing opinions ….just because you don’t agree with my beliefs doesn’t mean you get to say that I’m wrong ? I could say the same back but I wouldn’t because it’s your individual view ? 😂 and I also would never claim to speak for a majority of people which you have done in your comment. So thank you for proving my point that in todays society we cannot disagree in such a manner that isn’t hateful nor disrespectful towards others.

You're not in the US to understand the state of contraceptives and you shouldn't be making broad statements again on something you don't know the full story. Good for you that NHS provides those things but alot of countries don't and alot of people can't afford it either. They scrape up the money most times for the procedure or get it through abortion funding due to being homeless or other financial hardships of that sort. The cost of them not eating or missing a bill most people in that situation will choose instead of the amount of $$ a baby would cost them in the long run.

I'm not hating I'm pointing out moral flaws that would make you undesirable to associate with
to my knowledge there is the affordable care act in America which offers benefits for birth control both low cost and free to those with or without insurance. I don’t know ins and outs of it but it does exist and it is an option to avail of for people on low income.
You outright said my opinion was wrong just because you disagree which implies that you think anyone who shares a differing opinion is wrong which is more concerning.

That act is a big joke amongst Americans. In some areas it's impossible to get into the places who supply free/low cost contraceptive services. Some areas don't have them at all. Doctors in abortion ban states have been bled so dry that there's been so many hospitals who can no longer preform births there because there's simply no doctors to do them. There's active political pressure now that abortion is an issue to remove the access to contraceptives next. Someone explored the website that facilitates the ability to get insurance through ACA and the cheapest plans not including deductible ranged from $500-$1200 a month. (£395-£950). Realistically think right now could you afford that type of increase monthly in your finances on top of bills and payment for health appointments and everything else

It's interesting that you said "no hate" but chose phrases like "lazy parenting" and "if you can't x then you shouldn't y"... wasn't the whole point to share opinions without being hateful and judgmental of others? And I'm not saying I agree or disagree, but I also noticed you felt shamed about formula feeding, so maybe you should notice how your phrasing is... well, shaming on some of these 😅 like if you had worded it as "I don't agree with spanking," it'd be verbalizing your opinion without going to the extent of putting down parents who do it. (I myself, also, do not agree with spanking, but I feel like maybe it should be pointed out, so you understand why the post in general is prompting response/ "hate." It's the tone) You actively state that you're not here to tell people what they should and shouldn't do as a parent when that's literally the structure of one of your sentences haha But I appreciate the idea behind the post! Just offering a little constructive criticism
thank you for this ❤️ ahaha I am naturally quite a blunt person and that often comes across when I type because I type how I talk in a literal sense 😂 thank you x

Also! For clarification, the reason your opinion of the abortion is a hot-button issue for Americans, is because a lot of Americans have lost that basic form of health care *due* to that rhetoric- that it's being used as a contraceptive. Perhaps you've experienced that where you're from, but here our health care sucks to begin with, and I assure you, abortions are one of the most miserable procedures available in *some* parts of the US right now, so it doesn't really fit the populace. So I could see why that phrasing may be triggering- because it absolutely worked to take away a lot of women's health care options. So it's not a "these days people get so upset about OPINIONS" so much as it's "these days these opinions get written into stupid laws in America and hurts people, so Americans don't see it as opinion but an attack." I think it's really great you come from a country where you can have these opinions! They probably care more about your people than our government...we drowning over here 😂 send help
thank you for enlightening me! Obviously in the UK we have access to free contraceptives and there are the select women who still choose not to avail of such a service then end up shocked when they fall pregnant after unprotected sex and then abort and choose to do this on repeat when it’s free to prevent or attempted prevention at the very least it mind boggles me entirely because abortions are a traumatic procedure to go through and mentally straining so I cannot understand why women would choose to undergo them instead of using birth control 🤷🏻♀️ seems like such a strange concept to me if that makes sense c

That is interesting! I wonder if it's some weird equivalent to adrenaline junkies. I feel like I would probably be bothered by such a thing if it were someone who directly expressed that to me like "oh, I'm getting my 6th abortion this year" and I would definitely ask them why they don't just use contraception, or if they keep falling pregnant why they wouldn't seek alternatives. Your opinion on that makes sense to me!
thank you for understanding ❤️!
