My poor little boy (just over 4 weeks) has been in the most horrendous pain with colic and I've been advised to cut out dairy while I'm breastfeeding because he might be intolerant to dairy. How long did anyone take to see a difference when having to do this too? My poor boy screams daily and struggles to bring his wind up still sometimes even with infacol. I definitely think it's the dairy..

My 1st child had MSPI (Milk Soy Protein Intolerance) and they said it was colic before the the diagnosis. She was pooping blood by the time they figured out it at 2 months old. It was the dairy and soy in my breast milk. We switched her to Alimentum RTF formula and we saw a noticeable change in her behavior within days. Physically it took about 2 weeks. I removed dairy and soy from my diet but it was so difficult because there is hidden soy in everything. After 2+ months of detoxing I tried to reintroduce my breast milk and she refused so we kept her on formula. She's 5 years old now and she can have soy, but still sensitive to cows milk. She's had goat cheese & Buffalo cheese with no reaction though. There are so many dairy free alternatives you'll be ok.

he had some mucus and a very tiny speck of blood in his nappy which is why I went in. They advised giving up dairy but they didn't mention anything about soy so for now I've changed to df alternatives although most of that contains soy..

Its hard. And frightening. My friend had a baby a year prior to me and they diagnosed her baby boy with colic and she said to not believe it thar my baby was crying for no reason. Her son had silent reflux and it took a long time to figure it out but she kept on seeking a reason for his constant crying. Once she got him on a different formula he was fine. You are doing a great job. It took me over 2 months to detox to remove all traces of dairy and soy. Maybe consider switching to a dairy free formula in the meantime?

oh no that's so sad :( it's horrible seeing them in pain isn't it. He's breastfed so no need to change formula they've just advised me to stop eating dairy to see if it helps

I was asked to do the same. I stopped but my baby had been a colicky baby for first 2-3 months. So I was very mindful of what I ate. Although it didn’t help much but with time it got better. Do tummy massages and burp your baby often.

Burbs him good and it u dm me I’ll show u a liquid that helps with colic I use to have it so I got anti colic bottles and anything I can get but it will definitely help him and drink lactose milk no more whole or 2% milk

You could try soy formula. We were feeding my son regular formula for a while and then he kept getting sick just throwing up/spitting up a lot all the time even hours after eating so we switched him to similac soy and he does so much better.

My son had this too! I tried us hydralized formulas soy goat you name it and they didn’t work. He couldn’t do breast milk. It was weeks and weeks of non stop colic screaming. Didn’t know what was going on same with the doctors.
I was dead set on breast feeding and felt like a failure and something was wrong with me.
I ordered some HIPP Biocombatic or whatever it’s called from Europe. Completely changed everything.
Hang in there! What you are going through is the absolute worst and it’s not your fault. Don’t blame yourself and keep trying.
