C-Section or Natural - baby measuring big

Hey Mamas, has anyone thought about opting for a C-section, either for medical reasons or personal preference? I'm feeling conflicted after reading stories about babies measuring big and the possibility of early induction or emergency C-section. I'd appreciate any advice, especially regarding the concept of a gentle C-section. Thanks!

Following - as apparently I have a giant baby too! A section scares me and I had a lovely induction with my first, so would love to go back down that route. But if a section is safer option then I’d like to hear some positive stories!

I was told my baby was on the small side but the last time I did a fetal growth scan (last week), the size of the baby was 3 lb 6 oz 🤷🏽‍♀️. Isn’t that the average weight for a baby to be at that time?

Seems like the baby is growing to me. They are considering to induce me at 36-37 weeks and ofc it would be a c-section 😩. I’m positive the baby will continue to grow. I’m 33 weeks today btw.

FYI, I’m a first time mom.
Thoughts anyone?

I requested a c-section from the beginning for personal preference. I can’t say I’ve felt any change of heart at all throughout, even when going through the risks with consultant. My consultant is lovely and really reassured me. I’m all booked in for 3rd May x

@Marissa what was your due date? Do they book it earlier so you don't go into labour?

I had a c section with my first purely due to not being able to have epidural (past surgery caused site to be too scarred). Now with my second it was in question however having a toddler and recovering from a c section wouldn’t be the ideal situation. My first born weighed 9lbs and it’s looking like my second will be around that too (at 31 weeks he weighed 3lbs 9oz). The worry about a bigger baby is worrying however a bigger baby is supposed to be an easier labor

Heyy, I had a c-section with my first baby due to labour not starting spontaneously despite being induced however I feel like my experience was really calm and positive. I have opted for a VBAC this time round but equally not too worried if I have to have another C-sec ☺️x

Opted for a VBAC this time after homebirth ended in transfer in for non progression and eventually non emergency section. Been told this second baby is big. No surprise as first was large by 42 weeks when he came. Midwives have said no issues re big babies so I’m planning vaginal birth - no section or other interventions purely due to size …

Following as I’m in the same position. 33 weeks and he’s measuring 5.5 pounds. He’s on 87% percentile and his belly is on the 95% at least. X

I have a big baby and I'm trying natural first! If I have to have a c section I will but people can push out big babies!!! It depends what works for you xx

Help

I was getting pretty painful period cramps and during those, I had painful lower back cramps. I had these on and off for like a few hours so from about 10:30pm to 1am?

I’ve had no show, or anything like that.

Is this braxton hicks or early labour pains?

Labour??

I’ve had on/off mild period cramps since 9 last night, very irregular and very mild, but I just had one that woke me up. My waters haven’t gone and nor has my mucous plug… but could this be a sign that it’s close?! I’m 40+3 and desperate to meet her!

Little girl turning herself sideways in next to me

My little girl tonight, has spun herself so she is lying sideways in her next to me, making me panic!

Is this normal at 4.5 months, do I just lie her back normally/vertically?

Early waters/pre term labour?

I can’t get checked until later today unfortunately. I can’t tell if I’m leaking/starting early. I definitely think I’m having braxton hicks yesterday and today.. i have some pain in my back but she is quite low down so hoping it’s just pressure, baby was a little quieter yesterday but she’s back to more normal movements today, but my underwear just seems to get so wet, especially after going to the bathroom. And I honestly can’t work out the smell, I’m pretty sure it’s just discharge/urine leaking but there’s that worry in my mind a little. Are there any other ways to know/check if it could be the start of it all?

Ways to induce labor naturally

Hi All! FTM, Entering week 40 and no signs of labor, no dilation yet. Please share tips and ways to induce natural labor. Induction is already scheduled on week 41 but don’t want to go through that process.
