Is anyone else not able to have sex atm? I am 21 weeks and I haven’t been able to have intercourse for a few weeks now due to my cervix being super painful when trying, I can’t even handle the pain at all and the one time we found a position that kind of worked I had pain and soreness for days. I will mention it to my midwife next time I see her but I want to know if it can be normal or if there is definitely something wrong. Or maybe if anyone has any advice?? Thanks!

It can be normal but definitely don’t completely write it off and mention it to the midwife 👍🏼 I wouldn’t say I get pain but certain positions/angles can make it uncomfortable or I get like these weird twinges which I can only assume is my cervix and maybe after I may get a few tummy cramps! The cervix is super sensitive during pregnancy, also other things like bladder infections/yeast infections can cause it or just all the changes in our bodies like uterus growth and round ligament pain can affect it 👎🏻
i am not overly worried that it is an infection because I really have no other symptoms… but it is there on my mind. It’s just a shame, it worries me that then after delivery it will also be difficult and I am already wondering how long we’ll be going without being able to have sex at all.

I mean if you have no other symptoms then I would say it’s just everything being super sensitive and all the changes happening down there! I’m not a doctor but I would definitely speak to someone if it’s playing on your mind sort of thing and mention about after birth and what that will look like in regards to sex. It took me a good couple of months before I had sex with my 1st and it was a case of easing back into it!

I can relate, i can’t handle the pain either and sit with an ice pack after we try. I spoke to my midwife and all she said was not enough lube, which definitely isn’t the case. From my googling and asking around it’s because there’s more blood in that area, so there’s more pressure. So for some women pregnancy sex is more pleasurable and for others it’s painful. I’ve just accepted that I can’t be active, but if you find any solutions please lmk xxx

Don’t be too harsh on yourself if you can’t, there’s other ways :)))
yeah it’s definitely not a lube problem… how weird. I have never had lubrication issues and I have lube just in case, I know the way it hurts when it’s dry down there and it doesn’t feel like my vagina is sore and painful inside where the cervix is, which is what I feel now lol

Years ago I was having bad pain after sex, zero other symptoms at all and turned out it was just thrush! You're more prone during pregnancy as well so worth a swab to check x
interesting! I’ll put through an econsult to be referred, thank you
